As you know, we recently launched the official Minecraft Forum Server List, an incredibly useful tool for finding exactly the kind of servers you want to play on, at any time! Starting this week, we will begin spotlighting different servers on the list, right here on the front page. We will visit different servers in the community, and check out everything they have to offer! Whether you are looking for a small Essentials server, or a massive, unique new server with brand new themes or games, we will find it, and spotlight it right here!
So, how will the new spotlights help out players and owners alike?
AS A PLAYER...
Finding servers to play on has never been easier, no matter what kind of server you are looking for; you can search by Popularity, Country, Tags, and more. Want mcMMO servers? We've got them! Creative, Pixelmon, Feed The Beast? Those too, and many more. Hover your mouse over "Other" at the top of the server list for a drop down full of filtering options. Features are being added all the time, and we welcome any suggestions you may have to improve the experience!
On top of that, we will be featuring new servers right here on the front page, twice a week! Whether you are looking for a small, quiet community, or want to try out the hottest new server type, we will be featuring them all, right here on the front page. Looking for the top 5 best prison servers? Interested in who has the best arcade servers? We will review them side-by-side!
AS A SERVER OWNER...
Are you looking for players? Did you launch a new server with a crazy new idea, but don't know how to get people on to try it out? Maybe your server is well established, but you want some fresh new members in your community. The server list helps you as well! Not only do we provide the tools to let you say exactly what your server is about, but with the new Server List Spotlight series, you have a chance to be featured right here on the home page of the Minecraft Forum.
There is no official entry method; servers will be reviewed at random, though we do take suggestions on servers to try out! If you have (or are the owner of) an awesome server with a unique idea, be sure to let us know about it! You can leave a comment here, or send me a PM. I review all PMs, so do not worry about being overlooked!
