Installing mods has always been tricky in Minecraft. I've been doing it for years, and it still trips me up sometimes - missing or messing up even one tiny step can keep the mod from working, ruin old saves, or worse. Fortunately, we have been working on something to help out with exactly that!
Currently in beta testing, Curse Voice is adding a ton of functionality for mods, including mod and modpack installation at the press of a button. Mods are easy to search for with a wide variety of search parameters and filters, and search results include detailed info about the mod or pack you find, even what versions it runs on. Once you find one (or more) you like, installation is just a click away, and you're ready to play!
