During Minecon 2011, a lot of videos and behind-the-scenes interviews were conducted with various Mojangsters, convention staffers, and convention attendees. One man in particular was responsible for many of the official videos produced for Minecon - the one and only Lan Bui!
For this year's Minecon in Paris, Lan Bui will be doing even more documentaries, interviews and behind-the-scenes peeks at the various goings-on, and needs your help! This year, he has started up a Kickstarter project, titled "Behind the Diamond Curtain". Should you decide to help him out in making this amazing project happen, there are all kinds of special goodies for donators, including (but not limited to) special feature videos sent directly to you, personal shout-outs in the official Minecon videos, and even the opportunity to have Lan make a special video about your personal Minecon experience!
So, what can you do to help make this happen for Minecon 2012? It's easy! Just click this link (or the Diamond Curtain banner, above), and donate any amount you feel is appropriate! Once he reaches or surpasses his target goal, the official Diamond Curtain project can kick off properly! For those of us attending the convention, it is an unprecedented opportunity to help make Minecraft history again this year; for those of us unable to make it to the 'con, it is a chance to help create an in-depth look into the convention that we might not otherwise get - it's practically like being there in person!
Be sure to check out Lan Bui's Kickstarter page for more details!

Your sense of style is pathetic , I always look to java programers for style , because where ever they are , they always have .class.

But anyway, can no one fund these things themselves? Everybody resorts to Kickstarters these days.

Money raised from Minecraft could be used, but that would mean less McDonalds

If you're reading this, I'm sorry, Lan Bui, but this seems like a giant scam to me.

I'm looking at this guy's so called budget and I'm perplexed. $6000 just for the DVDs seems... outright silly to me. If he's being hired by Mojang as well, I can't imagine they wouldn't be picking up part of the cost as well. It's like this guy is paying out of his pocket (or ours) to do his job. No video producer I've ever spoken with who was hired on official business has ever done that.

If you watch his presentation video on the kickstarter page , he's not being hired by Mojang to film this year's minecon.
So what is it this , why is he doing it? This isn't a pocket camera production , the guy is offering his talent and equipment to film an event that a lot of people care about. He's offering the chance to the community to be part of it , participating and sponsoring someone that can really deliver without a doubt a high quality view of what's going on at minecon.
If you can't go to Minecon , but wish you could see it as if you there , sponsor him , if you don't care about Minecon , move on.

Why isn't he being hired? Mojang short on cash or...?
