Awww, France? Really? I suppose it was a bit much to hope that it might be London (that's just down the road so it would be very convenient), but I was hoping for somewhere, well, cool.  Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany; any of those and more would have been better. Oh well, I suppose I can alternate between hugging creepers and kicking Mickey Mouse in the balls.

Question, what is there to do at minecon?  My son wants to go and we live close enough to paris that we could do it. Is it only
for programmers?  Is there anything for kids (who play the game alot)?

If your son likes youtubers, they'll probably be there, there are stands to try out games etc (I think) and much more for people who like minecraft. Try typing into you tube 'minecon 2011', see what it was like last year.

It's definitly not only for programmers it's a giant convention where famous youtube people notch and jeb come and I'm sure in disneyland is something for kids ;)

Noooooooooo!!! Have neither jeb nor notch seen the 'what would ruin minecraft' thread? Disney buying minecraft was at the top of the list and now they will know and they will ruin the game just like the others!!!!! What the the hell were the thinking!!!?! We are screwed!

Disneyland Paris. Well, I knew it was going to be in Europe so I wouldn't make it, but this is kind of rubbing it in...I love Disney...

The only thing Disney has [i]really[/i] butchered has been sequels. In particular, "The Little Mermaid". They've left a lot of the game designers alone. I used to play Club Penguin, and when Disney bought it, nothing really changed for the worse.

What do you mean? Disney didn't buy minecraft... Mojang would more had paid Disney to have the convention there...
