Mojang is still focusing on bug fixing so they can eventually release the 1.3 patch. The biggest problem right now is that since the game is hosting a server in the background, the game requires more hardware resources than before. They are trying to figure out a way to solve that, but here’s a weekly snapshot for now:

 • Added an "Open to LAN" menu in the in-game menu, which allows players to open their world to other players. In the menu, the player can choose to turn cheats on or off, and choose the game mode.
 • The multiplayer menu now scans for LAN servers (singleplayer worlds which are on the same LAN and have been published with the /publish command).
 • Villagers may remove a trade option after it has been used at least 3 times.
 • Added wooden stairs for the remaining three wood types (spruce, birch and jungle).
 • Redstone (including repeaters, torches, levers, and pressure plates) and Rails can now be placed on slabs and stairs positioned upside down.
 • Removed the downwards knockback while drowning.
 • Pigs now drop 1-3 Porkchops instead of 0-2.
 • Improved memory usage.
 • The /tp command now allows teleporting to specified coordinates.
 • The syntax for this is /tp [target player] <x> <y> <z>.
 • The other functionality of the /tp command is still there.

If you craft a stair with different types of wood, what sort of stair do you get then? The regular oak one or none?

Great, they added the new colours for the rest of the stairs. Hated using regular wood colour for stairs in my builds when using dark wood. Also, I wish that Curse would post ALL the changes, not just say "A lot of smaller changes and fixes".

I was hoping for an update on the API progress. The rest of the stuff is important, mind you, but the API is a potential game changer. Any word from Mojang, anyone?

This is exactly what can be read on http://www.mojang.com/ . I guess there's no Prophet working at Curse.

It isn't Curse's fault.  The post was directly copied from Mojang's website.  Mojang themselves were the ones who did not provide details for "A lot of smaller changes and fixes."

You guys can see a more complete list of changes in 1.3 at http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Upcoming_features
While it won't tell you the changes in this specific snapshot, this might be what some of you want to see.

Being able to place more things on upturned half slabs and stairs is nice, if you're using those for decorative purposes.

I'm happy that stairs in all flavors of wood will be included.  This is probably where the multi-coloring of blocks using the wood-plank texture will stop, because to make fences of different colors, they'd need to differentiate sticks by wood type.  However, if they start coloring log cross sections differently based on log type, that would be pretty cool.

Now finally wooden stairs in all 4 colours ^^
The last missing thing is wooden fences in all 4 colours

Maybe also pressure plates and Chests and doors and finally fence gates. Workbenches and pistons would also be nice, but I think that's really hard ^^
That would be really NICE ^^

I agree with you. I am most excited for the new creative menu, and the emeralds, as well as the built-in SPC. Im also happy for the Single player lan. Now i can play with people without any trouble with making a server. sadly, the only thing i hate about this update is that Single Player is gonna be laggier.

I just wish they would bring back the old Singleplayer saving system!
What ever happened to the "Saving Chunks" screen??

I honestly think that Singleplayer is getting fucked up beyond belief.  Also, when I installed this snapshot and loaded my Survival world, my entire inventory was deleted!  I can't even restore my player.dat file back to a previous state with Windows, because when I do, Minecraft just overwrites the file, respawning me without my items (as if I died).

I'm really getting pissed off.  What the fuck is Mojang thinking?  Do they really think that getting rid of the "Saving Chunks" screen helps?
I think Mojang is doing too many retarded things to Minecraft.

Sadly the API will be delayed for 1.4, as of now Mojang is focusing on SSP-SMP merge for 1.3

It's pretty fun. I'm looking for people to play with.

I'm just hosting my own game, and anyone is welcome to join. It's a new map.
I'll be hosting 24/7 so no worries about downtime.
Be sure to use the latest snapshot.
