Should Minecraft Win the BAFTA Game Award for 2011?

The British Academy Video Games Awards have listed a number of hot 2011 titles (including LA Noire, Skyrim, Portal 2 and others) - included on this list is, of course, our favorite sandbox building game! Do you think Minecraft should beat out other, larger triple-A titles? If so, head on over here and make your voice heard - vote for Minecraft today! BAFTA will have a livestream of the awards ceremony on March 16th, so regardless of what title you vote for, feel free to give the ceremony a watch.

Bukkit Site Changes

Have you ever wished that the Bukkit site was a bit more user-friendly for downloads? Was the old interface counter-intuitive and difficult to understand? The Bukkit team seems to feel the same way, and has now updated their site to a more streamlined, user-friendly layout! Bukkit developer EvilSeph summarized the changes:

EvilSeph, Bukkit said:

On the surface, dl.bukkit.org, presents you with a landing page that gives you precisely what the average user of our product or prospective users of our product want: a link to the latest download and some helpful links in an attractive design. When designing the landing page, we wanted to appeal to the consumer, rather than the developer. We wanted to provide consumers with a clear indication of where they need to go to get the latest download link and feel we have achieved that with inspiration from Mozilla's Get Firefox page. On top of this, we wanted to provide users with obvious links to answer their most pressing questions so that no one feels lost when trying to get started with Bukkit.

I hate how it always goes to age with older gamers. I'm 11 and I love minecraft but if there are alot of 12 year olds or younger who like Minecraft the most its there choice. I could simply say the exact same but instead change it with Portal 2. Just because Im bored I shall!
I hope there aren't enough 16-year old, die-hard fanboys that vote so Portal 2 wins;. It's a good game, but there are so many games that are so much more enjoyable. Minecraft bought so much uniqueness to a game that it gets my vote.

I'm not voting for anything this year. I simply can't. I love MC, and Skyrim, I haven'y played portal 2 so I can't vote against it TBH.

I'm 20 BTW for all "12 year old fan-boy" remarks. >.>

Anyways... I love Skyrim - but it was so buggy it almost became un-enjoyable. As for Minecraft, its hella addicting... But it gets boring fast. Is it odd I enjoy people playing custom maps rather then playing it about 40% of the time? Perhaps its jsut the people recording it that make it fun.

Anyways, best of luck to all the games out there!

No Minecraft shouldn't win. Its a bad message letting a game win after a 3 year development cycle for a game that has 16bit graphics.

Totally got my vote, not gonna be one of those "bananas" who say they voted for Skyrim and Portal 2. Minecraft deserves this, even if it IS 16 bit.

sorry, skyrim got my vote

Note: I'm 19.
I have to be honest here, but I'm confused as to why FIFA is on here? I guess it's on there due to 3rd world countries. Anyhow, I'm debating here. Either Minecraft or Skyrim will get my vote. Skyrim has a HUGE amount of content and quests and special items. But Minecraft allows you to make anything you want, and the modding community, at the moment, is probably the best I've seen. When I look at a game my favorite part about it is the customization. Minecraft is unlimited in how you can customize your world whereas Skyrim has some limits. For example, you cannot enchant certain items with certain enchantments. Even though Skyrim has it's limits I still feel like I have unlimited options. Plus Skyrim makes me feel like a total badass, which is what separates it from Minecraft. It's very close for me, but I have to vote Skyrim. Why? Items. Skyrim has a bigger amount of unique items that Minecraft cannot compare to. Weapons like the Wabbajack, Nightingale items, Spell Breaker, etc. On top of that are all the powers, shouts, spells, and abilities that your character can use/have. So it all came down to combat and items in all reality. Customization was even between the two. I won't mind if Minecraft wins, but my vote belongs to Skyrim.
BTW, if you read this all, here's a  :Diamond:
