Minecraft has seen many parodies, tributes, time-lapse builds and game-in-a-game creations - today, we break newer ground with this "silent film" adaptation of Minecraft gameplay, by trencej! Featuring high-quality editing and filters, clever dialog and a surprisingly authentic-sounding music accompaniment, this short film is sure to entertain! How do 20's-era film sensibilities and modern sandbox games match up? You'll have to watch and see!


Digital Diamonds is an ongoing look at Minecraft-related videos that have been submitted to the Minecraft forum video section. We'll be selecting memorable videos and those resonating with the community to share with everyone on the front page.

yes, he did those things, and you did not. I've found that 'doing' is usually distinguished from 'not doing' by people noticing what was 'done'.

in addition to the music and effects, I also appreciated the narration and the plot. fun and random. thanks for making life more interesting!

Clearly you haven't watch films when they were first introduced. As a film watcher, although I found it boring, it is none to less interesting the way he use silence to make his mark instead of mono-tone people talking into their crappy mics

A novel idea for sure, a rag-timey minecraft video is a great idea, but the execution is nowhere even remotely near the worth of being frontpaged imo.

I were expecting some ditzy Creeper vs Chaplin shenanigans, or something like that, but this is just a completely random new world fraps with a old-timey filter added, which takes exactly no time at all to create. How this can be considered on par with insane constructions and crazy redstone contraptions is completely beyond me. There's so many far greater things I would have shed light on before this.

To everyone complaining about that this should not be a digital diamond.

Yes, this was put together Quickly, and yes, if you really want to boil it down, it is just colour correction with a few title cards. But the whole point is this......

Its different.

Thousands of timelapses on youtube.
Thousand of epic creations on youtube.
Thousands of Redstone Machines on youtube.
MILLIONS of lets plays.

ONE of these.

Why follow the crowd all the time? Why try to compete in a field with literally millions of videos that are all the same? Why not just do something completely different and unique, to make yourself stand out a bit more. Obviously someone Liked it, so it got a digital diamond.

Like i said, yes, this WAS a quick and dirty edit, and to be honest, im suprised as anyone that this got a digital diamond. But have you got a digital diamond?

I Really despair for the human race sometimes when i read internet forums. People just cant be happy that someone else has got a little bit of status from something they created.

Envy, Its a Bad thing.
