A code freeze for Minecraft is now in effect!  In software jargon, a code freeze is essentially a tight set of restrictions placed on what can be added to game code, with a focus on polishing, bug-fixing and streamlining the game instead of adding more features.  This assures that Minecraft will be released as a smooth, mostly (or entirely!) bug-free game.

Minecraft has gone through some amazing changes since its humble beginnings, adding tons of features and content.  What have been some of your favorite additions to the game?

My favorite addition was the addition of creative mode and BEDS!!! Also the light changes.

Hm... Maybe... The cake. xD Or the ability to sprint! Actually a lot of stuff. :) I like every change in the game. ;)

I'm gonna miss updates I think. :( But I'm proud to see Minecraft evolve through Aplha and Beta. :) And I do not have a favorite addition. :P

I swear this game has so much potential sometimes I wish I could be one of those developers and say "It needs more!!!"

My favorite part was when Notch took that vacation. Or maybe it was the part when he wanted to add something but then abandoned it half-way through.

sorry do not really understand, is this a restriction on their end? like does this mean there will not be any more major updates to the patch, just cleaning and polishing?

Finally Minecraft will be complete! Later, Notch will abadon (did i spell it right?) this project and make pirating it legit!

This game has just come so far since when I first started playing it, and so far it's just been amazing.
