loli559 brings us a special device, built by collaboration on his SMP server - a massive, fully-functioning Connect Four game, right inside Minecraft!  Using sand and gravel for the playing pieces, players can drop the correct piece into place with the correct flip of a lever and press of a button.  Check it out!

Digital Diamonds is an ongoing look at Minecraft-related videos that have been submitted to the Minecraft forum video section. We'll be selecting memorable videos and those resonating with the community to share with everyone on the front page.

woahh... Today in school I was asking myself what to build as an entry for RDF and I decided to build a connect 4. but not with pistons. I'm currently building a giant connect four out of redstone, torches and diodes only. I think I'm finished in a few hours, capture it as a video and show it to you guys :)

I made one with pistons before. But in this version you don't play from one side. Also has a reset function

We have a very nice connect 4 on our server. All automatic with redstone and pistons. It also has a turn indicator telling you when it's your turn to play.

The one in this video is ok. It's a simpler version of it.

Nice work! Looks fun.

To everyone that is complaining about other, older, or better versions: Sacheverell is one guy who gets swamped with submissions for Digital Diamond. He simply does not have the time or resources to research if a submission is the first of its kind or the best, nor should he.

The drop mechanism can be made much simpler.  Instead of pushing all of the sand or gravel blocks out and then opening a space to drop one, just push only the bottom one out for the row you want.  It drops, the piston retracts and is automatically reset.  May have to make my own to show what I mean.

That's a great concept, and a pretty amasing build imo, BUT i'm really tired of the use of the word "massive" in these Digital Diamond Posts! It's not even that big of a build! It's a good one, but not to complex compared to some of the otherstuff we've seen on here! you need a new synonym for Large mate! all ranting aside, I bet This would be pretty fun to play lol.

Edit: i didn't mean the word was overused, just used at the wrong time. Bad word choice, sorry!

This is not a very new idea. Here is one from a week ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96SaMmqsMTA&feature=watch_response_rev

It is still good though.
