Notch recently posted this image as a working example of a ravine crossing through a stronghold.  This certainly presents some interesting questions on the future 1.8 Update - we will continue posting updates as they become available.

Because I'm first, here's an image to stop conspiracies...
Also note that the lighting engine has changed with the patch and torches will appear more "real"

What are those vine-looking things at the right, and that almost door/gate looking thing towards the left?

I zoomed in on the picture. I honestly hope it's not what I think it is. It looks like some sort of sniper rifle. Please, [b]please[/b], don't add guns!

Things seems to have different colors, the rocks that is.
Possibly, this is the implementation of biome-colored rocks?
