Since pistons have been announced for 1.7, there has been a lot of buzz around them.  Today's segment focuses on a remarkable creation made with the original Pistons Mod - a massive, self-assembling pixel-art machine.  There really are no words to describe this - you have to see it to believe it!

I'ts amazing besides the fact that i'd have to wait 16 minutes for it to finish.

Awesome, another Minecraft device that makes a usually simple task into an extremely long, complicated process. But it is cool.

This isn't really a advanced machine, but it does look kinda nice.

This isn't the first time I've seen this, it is still really cool though especially when you make a house and/or a bridge that can repair itself automatically!

All I thought was "meh"

It's pretty simple.

I don't often follow threads I post in. If you'd like a response about something, send me a PM.

Yeah, I agree with Doirdyn. Back when the piston mod was new, someone made a similar machine, but you could pick the color of each pixel with buttons, then it would gradually assemble the image. (There were 4 colors to choose from.) That's ingenious. This is... not so. It's nice, but it's not really interesting.

that's why we need a dispenser-thingy to place blocks, a perfect harmony with pistons. but without them, you can't do really much besides selfrepairing bridges and secret doors.

Also we need following:
piston + flint -> spiked pistons (destroys blocks)
collector block to reuse the destroyed blocks (for more information: "Allocatorblock")

That would be overcomplicating it in my opinion. I do love the Allocator block idea, but a block that places block is unnecessary. It IS possible with pistons in every case.

Hmm, I wouldn't say that would be a digital diamond, maybe a digital iron ingot at best, not the coolest thing ever... but worth watching.

It's actually not that impressive.  It's basically just a self-building bridge/wall being loaded with the correctly-colored cubes in the correct order to make the picture.  In fact, the picture has to be already assembled in reverse order underneath the ground so that it could actually feed it up and fill the picture in using the correct order.
