    posted a message on Xaero's World Map [Forge 1.11.2 | 1.11 | 1.10.2 | 1.10 | 1.9.4 | 1.8.9 | 1.7.10] - Fullscreen Map

The mod adds a self-writing fullscreen map to your Minecraft client. Works as a separate mod but is a lot better with Xaero's Minimap. The reason why it's available separately is to keep Xaero's Minimap as light-weight as possible.

The mod is in beta testing stage. The testing is open so anyone can download and try the mod out. Please report any bugs that you encounter or otherwise they won't get fixed. Use PM to report bugs.
    The mod is available for Minecraft versions 1.7.10, 1.8.9, 1.9.4, 1.10, 1.10.2 and 1.11.

Install by dropping the jar into the Minecraft Forge's mods folder, as usual. A step-by-step guide is available on the download page.

    Current Features:

    • Self-writing world map. Different for every world/dimension/server.
    • Works in Singleplayer, Multiplayer and on Realms.
    • Interactive interface. Open by pressing M. Move the map around with your mouse and zoom in/out using the mouse wheel, similar to Google Maps.
    • Automatic MultiWorld / Lilypadded servers support.
    • Minecraft Realms support (also with MultiWorld support).
    • Texture Pack support. Changing the texture packs updates the whole world map and not just the new chunks.
    • Cave dimensions support (similar to Nether).
    • Vanilla maps mode. Makes the world map look like vanilla paper maps.
    • Terrain texture customization.
    • "Footsteps" showing your most recent path.
    • Optional performance boosters.
    • Xaero's Minimap integration. The minimap mod will display chunks loaded by the world map. The world map mod will display waypoints from the Xaero's Minimap. Also works with Better PVP mod.
    • Off-screen waypoint menu that can be opened on the map GUI by placing the mouse cursor in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Selecting a waypoint from the menu with the mouse scroll wheel and clicking the right mouse button will quickly move the map view to the selected waypoint to speed-up map scrolling.

    Planned Features:

    • Small waypoints list on the world map GUI for fast scrolling.
    • Customization
    • I'm open to suggestions :)

Unlike many other minimap mods, Xaero's minimap keeps the aesthetic feel and look of vanilla Minecraft which might even make you forget that it was a mod in the first place. It's also the first rotating square minimap for Minecraft but there is a toggle to make it lock north and not rotate. See the full list of mod features below.

    • Aesthetic feeling and look of vanilla Minecraft.
    • Runs smoother than most minimap mods.
    • 2 mod editions: full and fair-play. Full version does not have any limits. Fair-play version does not display any entities or cave maps which is more suitable for public PVP servers.
    • 2 colour modes: Vanilla, which uses the colours of vanilla Minecraft maps and Accurate, which uses the colours of block textures.
    • Terrain texture customization.
    • Compatible with Xaero's World Map and can use the chunks loaded by the world map instead of it's own.
    • Option to limit your Minimap usage by binding it to an item that you'll need to have in your hotbar in order for the minimap show up. For example, add minimapItemId:minecraft:compass anywhere in the config file to bind it to compass.
    • Multiple languages.
    • Ability to lock north.
    • Works both above and under ground.
    • Togglable chunk grid.
    • Togglable slime chunks mode.
    • Cave maps.
    • Waypoints. Infinite amount. Can be teleported to (permission needed). Press B to create a new waypoint. Press U to list all the waypoints.
    • In-game waypoints. Waypoints will also be visible in-game. Can be disabled.
    • Deathpoints. An automatic waypoint is created on each death.
    • Displays mobs on the map as yellow dots. Customizable in the settings. Hostile and friendly mobs can be coloured differently.
    • Displays players on the map as white dots or player heads. Customizable in the settings.
    • Displays items on the map as red dots. Customizable in the settings.
    • Displays all the other entities such as arrows and item frames as purple dots (Different types of entities can be disabled in mod settings). Customizable in the settings.
    • Zoom in and out keybinds (I and O).
    • Coordinates under the minimap.
    • Current biome under the minimap.
    • Configurable settings. From minimap size to entity amount. Press Y ingame to open.
    • Edit mode which lets you move the minimap whereever you desire.
    • Compatible with the Better PVP Plugin for Bukkit servers.

    • Start the version of Minecraft that you're going to install the mod for at least once.
    • Go to the official Minecraft Forge website: http://files.minecraftforge.net
    • Download and run the recommended installer for the needed Minecraft version (1.10.2, 1.9.4 etc). This should create a new "forge" profile in your Minecraft client if this is your first time using Forge (to change which Forge version to run you'll have to edit the "forge" profile).
    • Start Minecraft with the "forge" profile at least once.
    • Now click the download link below, choose the mod edition (full or fair-play) to the top-right of the page
    • Choose the latest version of the mod for your Minecraft version and click "Download (.jar)". Wait 5 seconds and click "skip ad" in the top-right corner of the page.
    • Go to C:/Users/YOUR USER/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/mods or to an equivalent on other OS'. On Windows you can open the "AppData" folder by pressing windows key + R and typing in: %appdata%
    • Find your way into the "mods" folder as described in the previous step.
    • Put the mod jar you've just downloaded in the "mods" folder. You can now install any mods compatible with your Forge version by putting them in this folder.
    • Start your minecraft launcher and start the game using the "forge" profile.
    • If you are still having problems getting the mod to work, contact me. Contact info is available in the sidebar.

    posted a message on Craftable Waypoints [Forge 1.11.2 | 1.10.2 | 1.8]

Craftable Waypoints mod adds survival-friendly waypoints into your Minecraft world.

Unlike other waypoints mods, with this mod waypoints can't just be created anywhere at any time. You will actually have to craft them using a crafting table. This gives waypoints actual value as well as additional use for various resources like dyes, strings, anvils and player experience.
In addition to waypoints, there is also a Teleportation Wand which lets you teleport to your waypoints after you have added ender pearls to them. Right clicking waypoints with the wand will open the ender pearl GUI.

This mod is 100% multiplayer compatible and can be installed on a Forge server.
Waypoints are stored server-side and are visible to all players by default (can be toggled!) in the world.

Please leave feedback so I can improve the mod!

    • Change the allPublic setting in the mod's config file .server folder/xaerocraftablewp.txt to enable private waypoints. Private waypoints can only be seen or broken by the player who placed them. They are saved in the "world(or dimension)/private waypoints" folder.
    • This mod can also be used to make global waypoints on your server. Simply paste the following command in a command block to make a public(assuming allPublic is off) unbreakable waypoint with free teleportation:

    give @p xaerocraftwp:waypoint 1 0 {display:{Name:"NameHere"}, forcedPublic:true, breakable:false, freeTeleport:true, colour:5}
Unbreakable waypoints can be broken with an unbreakable waypoint in hand!

Great mod, but I have a suggestion: a way to move the Minimap Settings button. It overlaps with buttons several other mods add. :)

Thanks! There's an option to remove the button through the config file. You don't really need it, since you can use the Y key to open the settings.

    Update 1.12.2 (MC 1.11.2, 1.11, 1.10.2, 1.10, 1.9.4, 1.8.9, 1.7.10):

+ Added a new key binding (check Controls menu) for quickly switching between waypoint sets without having to open the waypoints GUI.
    * Toggle waypoint key binding will now be unbind by default.
    * Fixed startup crash on MC 1.8.9.

    1) you can close the popup and click the "skip ad" link again.

    2) mcmod.info is missing, i can't configure this mod at all. using 1.11.2

    3) all i really want is to be able to find my 5 yo son without having to walk over to his computer, get the cordinates, and tell him to wait there while i find him. so i'm just looking for a simple pointer that will lead my son to me, got any suggestions or know any mods?

Basically i would like to know where my friends are and see my last death location without eliminating the vanilla map use

So, the mcmod.info thing missing. The mod settings are not there, press Y ingame to open them.

You should check my Craftable Waypoints mod. It lets you craft and place waypoints in the world so that anyone on the server can see them. Not perfectly what you have described, but it should solve the problem, your son/friends just need to place down a waypoint and you will see it.
Haven't updated it to 1.11 yet though.

A thing occurred to me while using this:
Why not add an item crafted using vanilla maps that installs a minimap in the corner as in Xaero's minimap?
Allowing different map zooms depending upon the size of map you start with.
Potentially also some modular stuff to do things like disabling locking north to the top, or showing entities/players/etc.

Seems like it'd be dope to me ;)

Well, I have a similar feature in Xaero's minimap.

    Update 1.12 (MC 1.11.2, 1.11, 1.10.2, 1.10, 1.9.4, 1.8.9, 1.7.10):

    * Updated Waypoints GUI to support more worlds/servers by adding a second drop-dmenu for sub-worlds (servers with multiple worlds) and dimensions. This will make waypoints more organised instead of putting everything in a single drop-down menu.
    * Updated how waypoints are saved, so you might want to backup your "mods/XaeroWaypoints" folder, in case there's a bug that I missed.
    * Fixed the main thread of Minecraft crashing occasionally.
