posted a message on Anyone Else Have The Game Display Like This?

Your Java is ever so slightly outdated, so it wouldn't hurt to get that to the newest version. As well, you may want to try restoring your Minecraft options to the default ones by deleting the options.txt file in your Minecraft data file (default file path is in ~\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft) and allowing Minecraft to regenerate it. You could also try updating your graphics driver in your PC.

posted a message on Lag Spikes constantly. Please help! [Windows 7] [Prize]

You stated you updated your drivers, is that including your graphics driver? Did you delete your Java (and all updates) and install Java 8 64-bit? Is there any type of error messages appearing in the Minecraft launcher developer console when these lag spikes occur? It could also be some settings for your graphics card/driver, perhaps try going to your graphics control panel and messing with some settings in there?

Same problem here, is there an answer yet?

Windows 8.1, updated Java today. Also set vsync off and max fps=Unlimited, which didn't help.

The funny thing is that the game itself runs fine. It's just the launcher that's at 0.5pt font.

Check to make certain that you don't have any special compatibility settings for the Minecraft executable (right click the exe, click properties, then compatibility). If this happens for other games too, check out your graphics card settings in control panel. As well, it would be worth investigating Java in control panel, see if anything seems odd or suspicious there. Make sure that your display ratio for your graphics is set to the correct resolution for your screen size. You could also look inside game profiles on the minecraft launcher (edit profile), as there is a resolution setting in there. If all else fails, try uninstalling both Java and Minecaft (both launcher and %appdata%/.minecraft), and then re-installing them both; don't forget to save your worlds.

Is there a lot of redstone/machines/etc. where you are in the world? Those such things are known to be major resource-hogs. Try going to a different place in the map, where you haven't built yet.

Have you tried reinstalling your graphics driver? Reinstalling Java? Have you changed any settings in either Minecraft or your video card lately?

Command blocks are a pretty huge thing now, if they even existed back then. Really helpful for map-makers and vanilla server owners alike.

Use CanaryMod or wait for SpongePowered. That's my advice to you.

Have you tried applying the JVM arguments -Xmx2G to your launcher? It may help with larger worlds that require more memory to run. By default, Minecraft will only use up to 1G of RAM, larger worlds (larger renders) require more RAM. This could be your issue, but I wouldn't bet any money on it.

You are talking about hard drive space, not memory. They are completely different. You can view both your Memory (RAM) and OS in Control Panel > System.

Also, unless you are a HUGE modder, there isn't much reason to go over 2G for the xmx... Just saying.

Yes, that's right. Exactly what should happen when you violate the limitations of 32bit programs.

Do you have a 64bit OS? Then you should get 64bit Java.

You can do this by removing all Java versions AND updates located in your Programs and Features section within Control Panel. You can then install 64-bit Java from their website at http://java.com/

As well, is your Windows 64-bit and do you have over 4GB of RAM?

Make certain that you are connecting to the right server address, both the port and ip/domain must be included. It sounds to me like your issue is either network-related or user error.

If you are entirely certain that the server address is correct, you can go to Edit Profile on the launcher and check the box for launcher visibility and set it to leave launcher open. You can then click the tab that says Launcher Log and continue to press Play. Upon connecting to a server, some debug information or errors should appear in your log, just simply paste them to http://pastebin.com/ and then link us to your paste.

Please don't "flame" users. Read The MC Forums Page before posting. If you don't agree, don't say it.

I was not "flaming" anyone. I was simply stating that most of the information you were presenting was incorrect; older versions of Minecraft work perfectly fine on newer launchers. As well, next time you tell someone to update to 1.8 for trial reasons, include the warning that it will clear all of their inventories if they downgrade back to 1.7.

Told you it would. The 1.8 hole thing is just a glitch though. Case Closed!

Regardless, 1.7 works perfectly fine. I have no issues with it whatsoever. It must have just been some weird world-related issue, more than likely linked to an inventory bug of some sort. Speaking of which, do NOT downgrade to 1.7 or all of your chests/inventory will be wiped clean, which is why I was saying not to update in the first place.

Upgrade to 1.8 and reboot your computer. Minecraft is not meant for 1.7 when everyone else is in 1.8. It will not load. Please give me more information on the problem too. :)

Don't follow this advice. It's not helpful. Older versions of Minecraft should work perfectly fine on the newer launcher.

Your issue is more than likely something to do with Graphics, memory or the world itself. What happens when you try to create a new world, does it work fine?

It's not letting me click Launcher Log. I'm stuck on the Game Output Screen.

I'm not entirely certain what to do in that case then.
