Thanks for both the feedback and kind words, The_Fool76. I'll speak with the team and see about what we can do to support Snapshots in the dropdown!
Edited to add: The description box is currently plain text, for simplicity, although the description can be easily edited on the project page at Bukkit should this not suffice.

Ok for those of us that:
could you give us a small guide on how to get the "Minecraft Snapshot" into the curse client?
Are you downloading the Test Client from here, without the regular live version of the Client running?
If you're running the test Client and are unable to select the snapshots, could you please click Help -> Open Client Log file, and copy/paste the contents into an email, as well as a description of the issue, to [email protected]? Our developers can use that to see what's up! -

The amount of points you get are based off the points pool we have for the month, and how popular your modification is. One point is currently equal to about five cents. You can check out the FAQ here, and we should have it in an easier to read format later on today, as well. -

It's not going to expire. Meet the 1k downloads, keep your creation relatively up to date (we aren't terribly strict on that), and you get the free Premium. It hasn't gone away in three years for our authors for WoW, and we don't plan to stop anytime in the near future.

I thought about doing this. But that was a long time ago, when I still used win7 as my main operating system and could easily test it. Now, I use Ubuntu as my main OS, and Curse client is not available for it, despite that Minecraft is. So I won't be uploading my pack to the Curse client until I can actually use it.
Should you upload your creations to Bukkit, it will also appear on the Curse.com download page as well, not just the Client. -
Jan 7, 2013wishfire posted a message on Uploading Your Texturepacks to Bukkit - a How-To GuideThe post has been updated to mention the texture pack button -- Please use the texture pack button option on the first page when uploading (it should be to the right of Client Mods). Sorry for the confusion!Posted in: News

How does this possibly work and what does it do in general? I want my texture pack to become more popular but I don't know how to get started.
This works by being another platform for you to upload your texture packs, client mods, or server mods to. Provided it's your creation, you can upload it! Simply go to http://dev.bukkit.org, log in with your normal Curse details, and click "Create Project". Click "Create a Texture Pack", and then follow the rest of the instructions in this tutorial. This will put your texture pack up on Curse.com as well, and within the Curse Client. Feel free to PM me if you need some more assistance!

Sounds like curse getting more cash for artists hard work in exchange for something essentially worthless. Plus its just another source to keep up to date... my pack's main downloads will only ever be hosted on my site unless curse fancies offering a proper incentive.
We have something exciting in the coming months that you may want to keep your eye on! -
Jan 7, 2013wishfire posted a message on Uploading Your Texturepacks to Bukkit - a How-To GuideNo time limit! It's existed for several years already for games like World of Warcraft, and these authors still receive the benefits to this day, nor do we have any plans of stopping them.Posted in: News

This is not a limited offer in the slightest. It's been in place for some time now for Minecraft authors. -

I would like to ask though that if possible that there would be some sort of option to instead of a premium membership, perhaps a bit of coin through advertising revenues such as say 1000 dls = $X
There's also an author rewards program that allows users to generate points based on how popular their addons are in WoW -- We plan to give this to Bukkit users. You can exchange these points for items seen as seen here: https://www.curseforge.com/store/
If you need to, you can just log in with your normal MCF/Bukkit username as this also works across all Curse sites. - To post a comment, please login.
