Before I make my post I'd like to apologize if anything i bring up has been addressed already. Now, The very first thing this mod makes me think of is the Harvest Moon series. I've loved Harvest Moon since the first time I played. A staple of these games was fishing; What I've been able to find seems to point towards a Mod that either was an expansion to, or ran parallel to Farmcraftory. Was this mod abandoned, absorbed into Farmcraftory or something else entirely? I ask because I've yet to try the mod and am unaware of its full contents. I feel like a small fishing mechanic would fit in quite well, although this could just be the Harvest Moon nostalgia. And finally I would like to discuss the kitchen blender. Do you craft every recipe in the mod with a blender or is it just juices? If you do in fact prepare every meal possible with a blender, it seems a bit silly. Might I suggest instead a recipe book. Minecraft's enchanting table's book could be re-purposed for this, sitting were you place it and then opening when right clicked leading you to the GUI that the blender has now.
Higher resolution or not? Tell me, i'll work on it, instead of 6pixels on the head, maybe 12 or even 24
i think 12 should suffice, keeping in mind the face takes such a small portion of the head a small face should fit well. the main folly of the texture as it stands now it that the face takes the entire front of the head, even wit their big eyes chao faces just dont take up that much space.
I got an idea when you start a new world you will be asked if you wan't a chao garden which will spawn a normal chao garden near you (on a flat surface) If you agree to this I could make the chao garden. To be exact I made one before I found out about this mod. If you wan't I can create a quick garden (What it would look like on the normal world) I can also make more gardens if you want.
i much prefer the idea of building my own chao garden. the way i picture it all the chao supplies would be in the chao dimension and you use them to set up your garden in the over world any way you like.
I can't really decide whether i want to use this model or not anyways. I feel that it kinda ruins the minecrafty part of minecraft. Plus i don't really want to have to rely on Turbo model thingy cause that would be another requirement for this mod, And i'm already going to be relying on modloader, audiomod, modloadermp, forge, and GUIAPI.
i fell the same regarding the general theme of minecraft and the model not matching well. but i didnt even think of the dependency using the model would cause, and that is kind of a lot. however i really think the old model could use a rework. noteworthy areas to improve would be, smaller limbs, a larger head, and i can stress this enough a new texture. i wish i could help but i dont have the skills needed.
"If it's not a right angle it's a wrong angle" Who are you to say that? Just cause you have a different opinion about what Minecraft should look like doesn't mean others' are wrong. Obviously you cherish the past of Minecraft. Some people like me look forward like Notch did when he made the enderdragon. Enderdragon wings aren't all blocky so why should a cute little chao be? In honesty you can't get very detailed with your right angles unless you make a ton of tiny little squares. I want a chao head to look like it's supposed to, not like it's wearing a beanie. Obviously we have different opinions but you stated an incorrect fact.
Now, it is also much more practical without having all the corners you get from a model made of a bunch of cubes in an attempt to round it. All those corners require more polygons and thus lag more than if you were to just slant it. Granted I did get too into the chao's body and head at first so it may have a few too many polygon's but I can always change it.
to start my comment of "if its not a right angle its a wrong angle" was an attempt at humor, im sorry if this seemed arrogant in any way. i never intended to imply that anything else was unacceptable or that 90 degrees was some sort of inherit law among men. my point instead was that nowhere in minecraft is any other angle. and to introduce one would be too thematically foreign. while your model is great and looks far more like a chao it looks very alien in minecraft. your correct that the ender dragon isnt at all blocky (like a sheep for example) but i would add that this detail is achieved while using only rectangular polygons, and fits into minecraft better because of it. i agree feel that the teardrop shape of the chaos head is an unfortunate casualty. id love to see it worked out. and as youve said its obvious we have a difference of opinion, and id like to say im glad we could have a civil conversation on the matter.
Went through hell trying to find a premade model; eventually decided to just make my own. Here's what i've got done so far. I may have to tone it down on the polygons a bit though. All that's left are the wings and emote ball and some fine-tuning

Sorry if it's a bit bright XP
while this is good work i dont think it should be implemented. every thing in minecraft has only 90 degree angles. your rounded models would look more than out of place. remember if its not a right angle its a wrong angle. the model in the OP has actually grown on me. apart from its huge hands and feet i dont mind it at all. its the texture thats less than good.
An update. I still don't know when i'll be releasing this, Been quite busy and really haven't had much time to code,
I do want your opinion, Do you want me to go ahead and wait until i'm done coding and modelling all the small animals and make chaos be able to take them? Or do you guys want me to go ahead and release them and they will act like wolves?
i honestly wont do very much untill you have the animals and a dimension for them. but i would like to see the chao this early even if they are just wolves in functionality. i think it would make people happy to see your progress. and as always keep at it were all very exited to see what this will be.
Well, i counted 79'648 mental sheep so far. You?
Better plan of waiting: play more sonic fo build up excitement. Challenge yourself to make a chaos chao (lemme tell gou, thats a whole heck of fun )
its funny you say that. i am making some chaos chao to kill time. im about halfway through the first reincarnation.
