Since he was a little boy, home was a never a word he was unfamiliar with. Orphaned since he could remember, Alger moved from place to place, taking whatever it was he needed to live another day. One day, after being beaten by butcher who had caught him stealing meat, Alger escaped into the forests where he would rest. As he inspected his wounds, he noticed his right arm was severely bruised, and that the large cut on his left leg had become infected from the voyage to the forest. Bleeding from the many wounds inflicted upon him, he sat there waiting for death to creep and end his life. When all seemed lost, a hooded figure approached him from the shadows and lifted the wounded child.
After awaking from what seemed to be days of rest, Alger looked up to see that he had been bandaged thoroughly, as well as that his clothes had been cleaned and layed down for him on the side. Confused as to what had happened, he quickly got up to look around. Just as he was about to reach the door, the hooded man returned, carrying him back into bed. Who was this man? And what was it that made him want to save his insignificant life? As days past, his wounds had healed to the point where further care was no longer needed. Other then the limp in his left leg, he was fit to survive on his own again. It was then, that the hooded man returned once again to let him know that if Alger permits, he would train him in a way that would allow him to survive without thieving. Hesitant at first, Alger eventually decided that it was best to stay with the mysterious man.
At first, the training methods were unconventional. The tasks he was told to complete seemed trivial and to be frank, a complete waste of time. After what had seemed to be a month of “training”, Alger decided that he was done with it, and demanded the hooded man let him leave. As if the man had predicted his words, the next few things he said took Alger by complete surprise. Apparently, there was blood in him that bred from a magical descent, meaning he was gifted in High Magic. And so, Alger took back his scornful words and studied vigorously for the next few years hoping to become a master magician. After 6 years of practice, his abilities had only developed ever so slightly, barely mastering the basics of each arcane art. It was then explained that his magical blood had been too diluted due to mix marriages, and that his magic would thus be weaker. Though disappointed, Alger couldn’t help but feel a sense of happiness despite his mentor’s words. He understood that his teacher knew he was not extraordinarily gifted, but still kept him under his wing. The feeling was unknown and strange, but it was something he liked. There was finally something he could call home. Finally asking for a name, the man only said that he may call him Forecry, and that was all he needed to know.
Months rolled by as he continued his studies despite his limited abilities. One day, as Alger was about to ask to learn more difficult material, his master had disappeared. Searching the home to see where he had disappeared to, there was no trace to his disappearance. He waited days, until eventually he realized that his master was never going to return. Angered and enraged, Alger rushed out of the home and into the city. After cooling off, he realized that something must have happened to his master, and decided to live a decent life as his master had intended. Leaving for the city in hopes to gain enough funds to find his teacher, opening a shop seemed like the best idea to him. My name is Alger Forecry, and I will find my master.

As you disembark from the Imperial Ship Leviathan, you notice a group of soldiers standing in the gangway. They draw their swords, with the captain of the guard standing intimidatingly. "We have received an order to take you into custody - you are wanted for the murder of Sir Raleigh, Earl of Dragnor."
How do you respond?:
“Zounds, what do these s want?”
As the men approached me, I quickly throw myself into the ocean casting a small spell to allow me to breath under water. I then swim away from the dock, eventually finding a road leading to the main city.

ive been reading around, and it seems maintenance costs are a pain. Would there be donation boxes still to help ease the cost routine?
