--- END ERROR REPORT f90e4fb5 ----------
I'm about to finish my second large project, and honestly, my first one that I think was well done. I really enjoyed building it and I like large creations because they inspire awe.
My build was the St. Basil's Cathedral so I am looking to build monuments, large castles, landmarks or wonders. Please leave your suggestion and I will take it into consideration.
Started playing Minecraft 1 year ago, and my moto for playing has always been Build, Build, Build. Some – I should say most – of these use InvEdit, TooManyItems, or Creative mode. Enjoy!
Description: My first build! Made on my first world ever, entirely out of collected items. 4 corner towers and 1 in the center. Ladders nearly everywhere allow fast access to towers. Stairs leading to the towers eat up most of the interiors.
Description: Built on my second world, entirely out of slabs and smooth stone. Inspired by a roman-styled texture pack. The wool cross burnt down as I tried to install a lava lighting system on the roof. The save was then deleted because I was not looking forward to getting the wool all over again.
Description: Built with InvEdit. Clearing the area took a small age. Eventually the end result was pretty satisfying. Play Ball!
Description: Built with InvEdit. A 1:1 pixel to block scale of a creeper. A small room is located inside the creepers head.
Description: Built with InvEdit. A GOLDEN Golden Gate bridge imitation. Built during the span of the Superbowl.
Description: A large Spleef arena. Octagonal and built with TooManyItems.
Description: Nyan-Nyan Nyan Nyan.
Description: A rainbow! The circles where a pain to get right.
Description: A dam. Quarried out by hand. Took ages. Used to work on/off with a controller mod but I haven't re-downloaded it.
Description: A snowman! Built in creative. Spheres were a challenge and the hat too.
I have other builds lying around, mostly just sprite art and such. I'm also working on a huge project atm which I'm almost done with the exterior so you might be seeing that soon. (Its the St. Basil's Cathedral)
I'm saving all my diamonds, I have a rule that I only use Iron or stone tools. As of now I have been really lucky and have been able to mine 31 diamonds. How many do you have saved up?
Btw the way I did it was that I went to layer 16, mined in each direction until I hit diamonds, then I branched out of them.
OK, this is about my 10th world, so I've built a LOT of houses. After a while, they get repetitive (I find myself making the same designs over and over). I don't have an abundance of resources at the moment, so keep it in a grey area between complex and simple (leaning a bit to complex).
The ones I really use are Mo'Creatures and Planes mod.
Others that I have used are change block, fly mod, x ray mod, and portals, all useful but I generally only add them if I really need them and when I'm sure there will be no updates soon.
To me, "Winning" in Minecraft is to have complete abundance of every item, own large farms, have bases in various biomes/locations, and have proper armor.
My strategy going into a new world is always to chop a couple of trees down, so you now have enough wood to make a wooden pickaxe. I immediately mine 8 pieces of stone to have enough to make a stone pickaxe, a sword and an axe. I spend the most of the first day getting as MUCH wood as I can and kill as many pigs as I can to have enough food. Then as the sun starts to set, I begin working on a house. I usually dig into a cave since it doesn't use up resources, instead you collect stone, iron and coal in the meantime. I set up a workplace with a double chest, a workbench and two furnaces and then mine all night. When I mine a mainly mine for Iron, not diamonds. I don't mine for diamonds until I am really well established since I need lots of wood to make pickaxes, ladders and all that stuff.
On my second day I go out and collect bones and arrows from burning skeletons, and kill any spiders in my way to make a bow and fishing rod. I usually fish for food more than I kill pigs. My main food source however is bread. I expand my home, make a bed and really begin to establish myself on the second day.
I start to build farms, rooms, storage areas and all that good stuff.
You sir have inspired me to make an adjusted challenge.
I'm having trouble with the mushrooms and gravel. If you have tips on how to get some of them, do share. :tongue.gif:

Notch has never failed us, and by 1.8 I don't think that will change.

Also, Beacons are a great way to make it back to your base, a lighthouse/boat dock/minecart hub are also important for safe transportation.
The most important, however, I would say a proper farm, where you can harvest wood, mushrooms, sugar, milk, eggs, pork, wheat, and slime balls safely.

However, If your base is miles away, you can download the Planes mod, and travel through the sky like a boss :tongue.gif:
