Why are people on the forums trying to make business decisions for Notch? We wouldn't be here talking if it wasn't for him, so I'm pretty sure he can handle his profits.
Where in this thread have I tried to make any business decisions for Notch? This is the suggestions board... I offered up the suggestion that he consider hiring another programmer to help expedite the completion of this already excellent game.
Yes, I am well aware that he's been doing a great job already on his own... but then why would you, the consumer, be so critical of my suggestion for him to hire outside assistance given that he can now afford it due to the contributions of of consumers like us given that it would take his already "great job" and make it that much better?
...because it wouldn't make it "much better." As I said, he can handle his profits - and the means by which he obtains them. He doesn't need anyone else, and it wouldn't make any difference, besides possibly making it worse due to disparity in ideas between him and his new "assistant." Besides, my comment wasn't only directed to you, it was directed to everyone in this topic.
Just the fact that your profit number is so off shows that there is no way we can know the business information that Notch does, therefore it is pretty pointless for us to start drafting business conclusions without this information.

How about creeper fortresses that randomly populate and are filled with monsters. You can attack them and if you can make it to the center dungeon you get a bunch of loot.
They would be pretty big (like castles), and made out of either wood or cobblestone. The wood would be fun to burn...
& this would also be a blast in multiplayer, to attack a fortress with your friends.
& it would bring a new focus to fighting creepers, instead of just defending against them.
This idea is like if I said we should remove the ability of people to destroy blocks in creative mp, to prevent griefing.
Aka stupid. We shouldn't disable functions of the game to prevent griefers from abusing them, because thats exactly what they would want. And there are so many different ways to grief (including placing blocks) that if we disabled or downgraded every one of these features the game would be, well...a crappy game.
We need to find solutions to griefing, such as better server management/tools, strict player validation, griefer lists, and more. Breaking away at the game's core features just because they can be used by people with bad intentions is not a way to make the game better.
Title says it all. It would be akin to many FPS games. When you die, you get a replay from 3rd person and get to watch the mob that killed you...kill you (would be especially funny with exploding mobs). Found the idea on this thread:

But I don't like the walking-damage idea, because I don't want my bridges to erode away just because I'm...using them.
