If you can reconfigure your internet router, you can install the server on one computer, then reconfigure the router to allow traffic from outside to the minecraft server.
I recomment using whitelist for that (you never know, someone can still get into your server).
This will be your best bet if have any technical know-how.
If you can't, then you can pay for a server with one of the many server providers (mcprohosting, cubedhost, etc). In a few moths Mojang will also release an official server hosting program called minecraft realms.
If you don't have money, and you aren't good with computers you can bring your computer over to your buddies house. This will work well if you have a laptop of course. Then, you can play on a LAN (local area network) server, which doesn't need any router reconfiguration to do.
Use chests as decor. On Christmas Eve and Christmas day the magical"chest fairy" comes and paints your chests Christmas colors. They make very good decoration.
The people who are making MCPE are working hard to make their game as similar to the PC version as possible. This will take time, for the entire game has to be recoded. It isn't just some easy copy/paste job. As of writing this, I think there are ways to play the PC version on your mobile device, but the game would be terribly laggy. There are also some things that will never make it into MCPE, such as caves, which the makes of the game admitted it was to intensive on older devices.
Mojang should really put some sort of safe in the game. I have diamonds but I don't want to put them in a chest because my friends will take them, I don't want to have them on me either because I might die and lose them. I would really like to see mojang put this in the ps3 version of the game as well as the other versions. Please do this, make some sort of safe where when you try to open it a key board comes up and you have to put the password to open it up.
I'm not sure keyboards and other electronic devices fit into minecraft. This would be useful as a mod though.
The problem with hackers and hacking isn't stopping the hacking, it's stopping the people. There are some very mean people in this world that only care to hurt others. If you try to block their hacks, they'll just find some other way to hurt people.
First of all, at least from my expierences, crops grow regardless of their proximity to water. I have a very large wheat farm that does not have any water near it.
Secondly, this could possibly be the work of mods judging from the op's picture. He has 18 mods loaded which might be causing some conflicts in the code.
