the ps3 suggestion thread i had saved to favs gives error 404

what im on about is the abilty to set world spawn in survival for trophy worlds since host privlages removes trophys on ps3 so for example x 50 z 240 or what ever players want

This thread is for posting Minecraft: Java Edition suggestions, it is not for suggestions for other platforms. Suggestions for the ps3 edition should be posted in the ps3 discussion section:

    http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-editions/minecraft-playstation-3-edition/mcps3-discussion

Edit: I am double checking whether that is the proper place for ps3 suggestions.

posted a message on Anti-Name Sniping | How to avoid?
    Quote from FlipMC»

As far as I know, name sniping is illegal in a sense and is dangerous, so of course I'm not going to do it.

How would name sniping be illegal or dangerous? If a name is freed up, it legitimately becomes available to anyone on a first-come-first-serve basis. As far as I know, Mojang doesn't have any policies against quickly obtaining freed-up names.

Now, if you are talking about handing your account information over to a third-party, then yes, that would be potentially dangerous and against the Mojang account terms of use.

How about you actually become vocal and give feedback to Mojang? That's the exact reason they're releasing pictures of the new textures and (eventually) development snapshots. (Mojang feedback site)

To be honest, that feedback site (at least the Java Edition sub-section) is pretty terrible. It seems to be more for offering suggestions and having people vote for them than leaving genuine feedback of Mojangs active development work. When I tried a google search, limited it to just feedback on textures for the Java section, there was maybe half a dozen posts criticizing the texture changes, with most having only 2-4 up-votes.

posted a message on What's the big deal?

I'm not really understanding why people are so upset about this switch. It seems to me to be almost exactly the same as when Curse became the owners of the Minecraft Forum and switched it from using the forums own account system to using the Curse account system -- the old accounts went away and the Curse accounts became the standard. People are talking as if they are now going to have to fumble around with two usernames/passwords instead of one, which simply is not going to be the case, since the old system is disappearing.

I do understand that a few people might be upset because of username conflicts between the Curse and Twitch account systems (where they might have to pick a different Twitch account), but I would think that very few people would have that issue, unless they had a common/simple/popular username.

posted a message on The Twitcher; a parasitic mob that will cling to you until it dies

They aren't along with wishlists and other things I see being posted more often here. I'm starting to wonder where the moderators went really. Did they all get 3 months paid vacation to hawaii or something. -;) They do all do hard work and do deserve time off, so though that probably isn't the case but anyway I treat it as a suggestion and went on my business so when they come back I don't get warned for mini-modding.

Lately, about 90% of the threads that people are claiming are wish lists, aren't actually considered wish lists. If you see a thread that you think is a wish list, just report it and move on.

As for this thread, I am waiting for a second moderator/admin opinion on it, since it is technically a valid suggestion for vanilla Minecraft.

Edit: also, people, please keep in mind that calling out threads as non-serious or troll threads is not allowed on this forum. If you think that a thread is a "joke" or "troll" thread, just report it, but do not create a post calling out the OP on it -- you will likely get a warning for it.

posted a message on New forums feedback

I think part of the reason why the Java edition is still at the top of the forum is due to it's popularity, not necessarily just because it is the oldest (or previously the "main" edition). If it ever reached the point where the new Minecraft section was more popular than the Java edition section, I would think that the forum admins would look into reevaluating the forum section order to best accommodate the forum user base.

posted a message on Mojang is adding too much to minecraft
    Quote from Herb_»

So where, exactly, can we discuss that? The console-vs-pc arguments are absolutely fundamental to the way that Minecraft is developing, and to the future updates/features. There is no way to discuss the current situation of Minecraft, and the way it is changing, without discussing the relative merits and problems with the bedrock v. java.

Please go back and read the OP. It is pretty obvious that this thread was created specifically for discussing changes made to the Java version after 1.8. If you want to have a discussion about how the development on different platforms influences each other, please create another thread.
