Go inside one of the .jar files inside your version folder & inside the <VersionName>.jar file you will see a /assets folder. Open the folder up & you will see the /minecraft folder & then inside that you will find other folders. One of the folders inside the /minecraft folder is the /lang folder. Inside there, you will see en_US.lang file. That's the English US language file for the game. Copy that to anywhere on your computer & then open it up in a text editing program, Notepad or Notepad++ would work fine. Then edit everything that you want to change.

Thanks! That's what I had started to do but now I feel a lot better knowing that's what you're supposed to do.

Okay, I really hate to bother making this dumb thread, but I can't seem to figure out how to make my own custom language pack. Everywhere I turn says to go to .minecraft/assets/lang but my assets folder doesn't have that. I've started from scratch and tried completely deleting and redownloading my .minecraft folder but I can't seem to get it. Could someone please help me with a step by step guide to getting the files to edit and putting them into my own pack? I bet the answer is something super obvious but this has been really frustrating. Also sorry if this is in the wrong location, but I figured that since the language packs folder was in the archives that this would be the next best place to put it.

EDIT: Since looking around I have gotten even more confused. My assets folder only has three subfolders, indexes, objects, and skins, is something wrong or am I just looking in the wrong places?

EDIT TWICE: Was I supposed to go to .minecraft/versions/1.7.9 and open up the jar file? I remember that to rip textures in older versions you would have to do stuff like that, and is that what everyone means? It seems to have what I need but I'm still not certain how to put that in a resource pack in that case.

Thanks a bunch. I guess I'll fool around with it to get the hang of resource pack making, as I haven't tried it since the update to them. Probably won't upload it though, for copyright and the flack. Really helpful post!

posted a message on Rules for continuing discontinued packs?
Basically the title. Back in alpha or some time when I was a wee little minecrafter I wanted to make a texture pack. I was super lazy though so I decided to make BITCRAFT, minecraft's first 2x2 texture pack. I had quickly abandoned the pack though, as I said I was lazy. Recently I found that someone back in beta made a 2x2 resource pack here and since I can't seem to find my old texture.png, I was wondering about how the rules apply to taking a discontinued pack. killa_zombeh appears to not have logged on since 2011 so there is no way of contacting him about using the pack. This was before that legal blurb was added to the bottom of posts, if that makes a difference. I would definitely credit the guy and wouldn't monetize the pack in any way shape or form. I'm completely fine remaking it from scratch, but having a basis like that to start on would be wonderful. If I used it would it be against the rules at all?

Sorry for having this fairly noobish post if it was stated somewhere else. Also, I know that a lot of these packs must have come out before and been super annoying, but I don't mean for just this pack specifically. tons of texture packs went unfinished and I'm curious about continuing packs overall. When I first made the pack I meant it as a joke, and this one would be a joke as well too. Seeing as they aren't always appreciated I probably wouldn't post it. Oh and if any of you do know, what are the rules on things like that for maps as well?

posted a message on [Modder] Taking Mod Requests!
    Mod Name: I dunno, stereoscopicraft?

Mod Description: Basically allows for minecraft to be rendered simultaneously by two cameras that make up steve's "eyes" it works like the magic eye puzzles where you focus "behind" or in front of the image and it shows you a 3d image. I think it would probably be simple to put two minecraft screens right next to each other, though it may be taxing to have to render it from two angles constantly.

Any Additional Information: There are two different types of stereoscopic 3d viewing, cross-eye (focus in front of) and parallel (behind) cross-eye is more common than parallel but I would love if you did both by a setting in some options menu. I think it would be fairly simple but really cool for people who can use it, and I didn't see one that works with this version so, plox? Also if you have any questions about it I may be able to answer.

Name: I personally dislike giving my name out to strangers, maybe if I got to know the clan a bit better I would share!

    Username: steelviper77

    Age: 14

How long have you been playing Minecraft?: Ever since a bit after the Halloween update, so probably more than 3 years

Why Sunkist?: Because I prefer smaller tighter knit communities to the mega "LETS CLAN BECAUSE WE CAN!" groups. I feel that founding a society based on friendship and interests is the right way to go when making a community. I'd love to become great friends with all the members and just have fun!

Pick One! PVP/Gathering/Building?: Gathering! (although I do fancy the occasional build and I'm not too shabby!)

Tell me about yourself: Well, I know a lot about minecraft since I've been playing so long. Currently going through a bit of computer troubles so I can't play as much as I personally like but that can be fixed! About me though? I guess I'm a fun guy, I crack a lot of corny jokes all the time and people seem to like that with the other communities I'm in. I can adapt very well to people with other interests and I'm always willing to try new things!

Skype? (Do you have a microphone as well?): I have a skype but my microphone is pretty bad quality.

(also MITA, how could you have been playing for five years if the earliest development of Minecraft (assuming you were like, friends with Notch and could get prototype builds) was in may of 2009? It would have to be January, unless you aren't remembering correctly)

You don't even have any description of the map. What is this supposed to be? What texture pack is that? If your map requires a texture pack that isn't specific to the map I'd rather not have to get it, can you play without it?
I assume you are new here, and that is totally fine, but it is best to lurk a little before jumping into things.

posted a message on Looking for Vanilla Microserver 1.7
I've always wanted to be a part of a server that is full of people who are just simply "friends." Any time I join a whitelisted server that claims to be "small and mindcrack-like," they end up adding "just one plugin to make it better" or a ton of people that stop it from staying personal. The kind of server I would want to join, and I assume other would too, would be a server with like 10 or so people that would just hang out and play Minecraft. We wouldn't care about age, maturity, experience, or anything like that, only that you wouldn't grief and just have fun. If I had the capabilities to start a server like this I would do it in a heartbeat, but sadly my computers just won't work when it comes to hosting. I hope this wouldn't be asking for too much, and if anyone could do this, I would love them forever.

Thanks for reading this, and even if you can't do anything to help, I hope that you too find your dream server.

This is your first map, and your first post, so I won't blame this on you, but it is good to insert pictures and maybe embed your video onto the page. You can upload pictures by taking mc screenshots (f2 by default) and uploading them somewhere free like tinypic, the community is pretty harsh on "no pics no clicks" and just didn't want that to happen to you!~

Thanks, that's how I got it to work, and I must say, the small amount of the map that I played, while small, was very impressive, great so far ColdFusionGaming!

At no point should you be in adventure mode. You should spawn and remain in survival mode. Are you playing in single or multiplayer?

Single player, I spawned in the multiplayer start room though. I think I have something messed up, because this is the case for some other maps I recently got. Thanks for telling me, I'll be looking into figuring out what went wrong with my game! I look forward to playing the map for real

posted a message on Epic SUPER MARIO GALAXY MAP!
I was really impressed by the hub, and forgive me for being stupid, but what am I supposed to do in this map? I thought I was only supposed to take one enderpearl over to the first island, but then there is nothing I can do at that point? I would really appreciate if someone explained this to me.

EDIT: I was stuck in adventure mode, which has been happening to me for some reason on a few other maps for who knows why, if you could tell me if that is intentional that would be great. I'm looking into the problem now and am sure that it is my game's issue.

I'm sorry if this was explained in a post or something, but I tried playing and was stuck in adventure mode. I got out of that first little watery box but didn't know what to do next since I couldn't break anything. Does the map automatically change you to survival mode after some point? Was I supposed to be brought out of adventure mode after the starting area and just missed it?

posted a message on [1.7.4][ENG/中文][PARKOUR] tPC Parkour Version 2.2
I don't know how to say this, and I doubt you will even see it, but I love your maps, I love all your maps, this is the first time I have commented on them, but I have been playing all of them ever since your first parkour map, and even if I am a crappy parkourer, I just want to thank you for all that you have done. That was the first map that I ever downloaded, and was one of the maps that hooked me into minecraft. All of your maps are amazing, and even if I am not good enough to have played all the challenges and beaten everything, I love it all. Thank you so much for your maps.

Also I don't know what to say to one up what I just said but I want to ask something. Why separate the map at challenge 26? Did it just get too big? Are 27+ all going to be on their own maps or will they be grouped with 26? Will anything ever happen to 1-25's map, now that there is/are new a map?

Again, thanks for everything you do and have made, and please don't feel like you need to do as much as even read or think about my comments and questions, I just wanted you to know I loved your stuff.

posted a message on Pokemine! [Pokemon In Minecraft] Kalos Version 0.1 Soon!
while your map looks intriguing, and you are the first one to do a kalos map, I think you are rushing this a bit much. The map itself covers the gist of the locations, but as a whole the map looks kind of bland and monochrome. Kalos is diverse with many places and things to discover, not just a flat land with some blocks in the ground and grass on top. It would be nearly impossible to do an actual 1:1 scale map of kalos without EXTREME forethought on where everything will be, so for now it still looks pretty yucky. I wish you luck though, for this is a daunting task to take alone!
