    any way we can disable hunters and vampire mobs?

    it's kind of hard being the lord of the night with competition.


    also. i'd kind of like to have both jump boost and speed boost enabled at once... if that's ok.


    also. one idea for hunters. there could be a "good" version of a vampire. one that wishes to repent for their sins by hunting their own kind and assisting the hunters.

    essentially, these are "dhampires" children of vampires who do not wish to harm humanity. as the name suggests, they are not full vampires - instead only half vampire. the other half is human. when they bite, they cannot turn others. they have similar abilities. but due to their nature of not wishing harm on innocents they are much weaker. but, as a tradeoff, they aren't effected by wielding hunters equipment. the hunters give them special armor that significantly reduces the need to feed. and, while it doesnt taste as good as blood, tomato juice provides the same functions as blood would. while they still do not like bright light, dhampires won't be harmed much by the sun.


    generally, dhampires are a fusion between the hunters and the vampire. but, some hunters are mistrusting of the dhampire, and the second a dhampire gives into its darker instincts, it becomes no better than a full vampire.


    this is a very wip idea. feel free to add to it.

    the thing can punch, and punch hard. would it be a bad idea to use it as a pickaxe?
    i don't like switching out of my arm canon. to do mining-related things. or to clear out blocks in a cave system. it breaks my immersion.

    ya know seeing samus returns gave me a small idea to increase the mining and combat capabilities of the power suit.

    what if, for the arm canon we have a melee attack? it could be used to swat enemies away that are too close.

    but it could also be used to break blocks. this ability can be upgraded, too for higher damage, faster mining, and what blocks can be mined.

    i mean, i adore the arm canon, i just feel like it could be a swiss army knife, capable of great combat feats and great mining feats. gets annoying to switch to a pickaxe when i see samus can punch stuff with her arm cannon.

    yes, it isn't a prime series thing (for now, anyway) but i think it could really help give us more options in combat.

    besides, there is no such thing as too many upgrades for the power suit :3


    also. i think there should be an option in the config that toggles the griefing capabilities of the missiles and power bombs. i love them, but if theres gonna be an adventure map, id rather not break anything other than what is breakable in a metroid game.

    a thought came to mind.
    (yes i am a huge castlevania nerd if you can't tell)
    in castlevania (and in japanese mythology) there is a blade called the "marumasa."
    legends say it is a powerful, demonic sword. the thing is: it is also cursed. how cursed is it? well. it HAS to feed on blood too. if it goes a certain amount of time unsaited, it will start to feed on a persons life force. but, since you are a vampire, going without blood already damages you. so, perhaps the castlevania version may interest you. in castlevania sotn, it has a passive healing effect when you touch an enemies blood particles that spray out of certain enemies. it starts off pathetically weak, but there is an unseen side effect: every time you do this blood healing technique, it makes the sword stronger. little by little, it gains its own levels. until finally, it glows a bright crimson red. it doesn't stop then, either. it can potentially be leveled (through heavy grinding) to the point where its maxed out at 999 damage - the highest in the game.


    wouldnt it be fitting to have a weapon for a vampire that also feeds on blood?

    so. my theory is this: this sword, called the marumasa, would get stronger as you feed on blood while holding it. it would be impossible to turn others while holding this sword, but for every bit of blood drained while holding it, it gains its own, hidden exp stat. when it is maxed out, even the most skilled hunter will fear you!! and yes, it will look like a sinister black katana with a reddish outline.


    however, if a non-vampire person wields it. it is still a powerful weapon. but if you don't keep it fed by killing non-undead mobs, it will start to damage you. you do not get the boosts vampires do, and you are cursed for however long you have it in your inventory.


    and it's fine to put my suggestions on the shelf. i'm a patient guy and i don't like to force people to take my suggestions to heart. castlevania vampires are VERY op, but at the same time, so are the vampire hunters.

    Yes, this mod messes with the night vision potion, but it should still work even if you are not a vampire.

    There actually is a feature to adjust the eyes/teeths. Use the "/vamprism eye <number>" (or fang) to try different eye types.

    The settings you suggested would probably provide a better way to configure it, but it would be quite time consuming to implement properly and I don't think it is worth it.

    Regarding skins. Yes, some could use a redesign, however, the use of HD textures in a mod is rather bad practice. If your friend would like to create 64x32 skins, he can submit some if he likes.

    If you are looking for higher quality textures, you can always use a texture pack, e.g. this BDCraft addon by Gedankenspiel http://gedankenspiel.me/vampirism/

    so basically allowing human players to use vampire abilities? That would kinda defeat some of the basic concepts of this mod?

    But a "lite" version might be an interesting idea for servers/modpacks , where not everyone wants to get deep into Vampirism, but might be interested in some of the features.

    i mean, this type of vampirism is special. you don't just need the stone to get this type of vampirism, but also a soul of a REALLY powerful vampire lord.
    and this isn't the normal run-of-the-mill vampire, either.
    this vampire is meant to be something out of castlevania.

    ie. flame attacks, summoning bats as a projectile weapon, using souls as well as blood to heal, transform into mist or a wolf, and a giant demon form.


    this is what i call "the dark lord". one where the very air around one perpetuates a dark atmosphere (as in, the immediate area around a dark lord would always be nighttime, unless canceled out by an equal power). one that can summon a giant castle (as in, a pocket dimension which houses your giant castle.), and command an army of undead (able to summon x amount of zombies and skeletons.)and who knows what else. one that only an equally powerful vampire hunter (yes, i do propose an opposite power to a dark lord for balance) can slay.


    if you have ever played lament of innocence, this is how dracula became, well. dracula. by sealing the soul of another vampire lord inside of the crimson stone.

    this can't be any vampire. it HAS to be an especially powerful one or else the stone will reject it. and you'd have to first FIND the crimson stone too. and dropping or throwing away the stone would cure the vampirism. but, if another person were to obtain the stone dropped, they would have to kill another powerful vampire.

    in a sense, this is a different type of vampirism, one that requires gaining dominance over another vampires soul, and with it, dark and terrible power.

    what would be nice is if we can shoot sword beams outside of combat.

    like, can we just hold a button and swing a sword?

    it'd help with striking at a distance.

    well. obviously SOME liberties have to be taken. there wasnt any because to my knowledge there was no water in prime 3. just like how there was no lava for prime 2.
    if there isnt some kind of gravity addon for the ped in this mod, then it would be kind of underpowered compared to the phazon suit.

    an idea.

    the crimson stone - grants vampirism so long as it is in the holders inventory. it grants "dark lord" vampirism. it is the same as the vampire lord, but now it also adds a host of magical abilities for the human form. hellfire, dark inferno, summoning damaging bat projectiles. the fire abilities aren't ordinary fire, but magical darkness-infused fire. the vampire lord form also gets enhancements. able to spit green flames.

    ooh. one thing that has bugged me was having to switch the pegasus and zora flippers.
    any way we can combine them so i am faster on both land and sea? (in all the zelda games with the flippers and the pegasus boots, they never needed to be switched. leads me to think link wears both simultaniously.)
    maybe call them something else? the zorasus boots?
