I've owned the game over a month and my account was a simple payment under my name and I'm seeing the same issue tonight. I don't think its got anything to do with my account as the game server seems like it's having issues. This started around 7PM CST.
I am getting random premium errors as well as server down and there are no multiplayer IP addresses that work.
I tried in on both my laptop and my desktop and both are acting the same, so there must just be issues on the server side.
I just purchased the M11xR2 as well with all the upgrades. I am having the same horrible lag issues as well. If I run it in limit framerate / low graphics / and short view distance it playes but is still steppy. All drivers are up to date, java is up to date etc.
Attempting to switch it via right click - graphics processor etc. results in a Java crash:
"Java (TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working"
Re-installing Java and/or minecraft did no good. minecraft.exe was added in on the nvidia program, I even tried adding java on there but no luck. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
