How about a tutorial? It seems better that way for me to understand too.

    Use search bar on wiki

Wiki can either be wrong or not have info upto date.
I posted a small essay of proof about it somewhere on the forum.
I recommend you to start following Mojang des on twitter and
Read their blog posts etc, they tell you everything.

Agreed because the wiki can have jerk here and there because anyone can just edit the article and say anything, including deleting the whole post replacing it with something else.

posted a message on iOS No player.dat in new levels
    Quote from KingRaaa

Hey guys, I want to hex in TNT because it can be primed now (it couldn't on old versions) but now on the new levels there is no player.dat to hex in the new levels, but on old levels that I made before I updated there is a player.dat, but editing it does nothing. Also now no matter what 3 blocks you had when you quit to title, you always start with the same 3 preset blocks, not the ones you choose.

If there is any way someone can help, please do. Thanks!

Hmm, could be a bug because the same thing happened to me too, the world not saving.. I restarted the application and rebooted my iPad for it to work. About the no player.dat thing, you might want to reinstall the application. If it doesn't work but you are on iOS 5, try deleting minecraft pocket edition off iCloud and see if it works if all else fails

My, my, how impatient we are. This will all be pointless once the update comes out....

Haha, true that.. But still, it's a pretty cool hack as of now.. I know why notch didn't add them, lag. With the water and lava physics, you can lag till the game crashes xD.

The 00000030 Is the row you are looking for. The other three are the ones you can edit. Here is what you can out in those: (This is Aviin's work, not mine)

    Green entries are normally obtainable.
Red entries are obtainable through hacking.

    Stone: 01
    Grass: 02
    Dirt: 03
    Cobblestone: 04
    Wooden Plank 05
    Bedrock: 07
Flowing Water: 08 (having it in slot 2 makes the icon in slot one bugged but it will still place correctly)
Stationary Water: 09 (also bugs other inventory icons)
Flowing Lava: 0A (also bugs other inventory icons)
Stationary Lava: 0B (also bugs other inventory icons)
    Sand: 0C
    Gravel: 0D
    Gold Ore: 0E
    Iron Ore: 0F
    Coal Ore: 10
    Wood: 11
    Leaves: 12
    Glass: 14
    Lapis Lazuli Ore: 15
    Sandstone: 18
Black Wool: 23 and 65 (either value works)
    Yellow Flower: 25
    Blue Flower: 26
    Brown Mushroom: 27
    Red Mushroom: 28
    Gold Block: 29
    Iron Block: 2A
Double Slab: 2B (has the top texture on all sides in inventory but places as a normal double stone slab)
    Stone Slab: 2C
    Brick Block: 2D
    TNT: 2E (cannot be primed)
    Obsidian: 31
    Torch: 32
Fire: 33 (does not seem to actually place down but does cause smoke particles very briefly when you attempt to place it)
    Wooden Stairs: 35
    Diamond Ore: 38
    Diamond Block: 39
Farmland: 3C (works just like desktop edition, saturating when near water as well as drying out back to dirt when away from water or when walked on too much; water flows down the sides of it if placed in water in a manner similar to what glass does; PE's autojump does not appear to work when colliding with farmland)
Wooden Door: 40 (bottom half of the door only; opens and closes normally)
    Ladder: 41
    Cobblestone Stairs: 43
Iron Door: 47 (bottom half of the door only; will not open or close, presumably due to the lack of redstone powering it)
Redstone Ore: 49 and 4A (both seem to behave the same, giving off particle effects when struck but no light)
Snow: 4E (snow "slab" rather than the full snow block)
Ice: 4F (like desktop edition in pretty much every way; melts when near lava and turns to water source, slippery, etc.)
    Clay: 52
    Sugar Cane: 53
    Red Wool: 66
    Green Wool: 67
    Brown Wool: 68
    Blue Wool: 69
    Purple Wool: 6A
    Cyan Wool: 6B
    Light Gray Wool: 6C
    Gray Wool: 6D
    Pink Wool: 6E
    Lime Wool: 6F
    Yellow Wool: 70
    Light Blue Wool: 71
    Magenta Wool: 72
    Orange Wool: 73

Yeah, I noted down Aviin yesterday from the TNT on Pocket Edition thing Lready, I'm just confused with the hex things but I seemed to figured it out but thanks for helping, I can now understand this clearer and yey, I'm having fun with lava and water physics! :DD

I'm pretty pissed they haven't yet added all the blocks.. I don't see why it would take so long to add more re-textured blocks? Same with water/lava It can be hacked in game just fine.

Well, it's clear that it's still new and it's hard to add in about a year of work on the PC/MAC version in such a short time, especially that fact that the mobile phone is limited to it's power.

Hey, I heard you can get access of blocks like lava, water and ores if you hex edit the player.dat file.
So I decided to edit the file.
    It's located at /var/mobile/Applications/Minecraft PE/documents/.....allthewaytill../(your world)/player.dat
I opened up the hex editor and I have no clue on what to do.
    Help anyone?
I don't know hex editing at all.

    Yes, They Wouldn't.
But these images look almost 100% fake.

The images aren't fake. I saw them while checking the pocket edition directory on my iPhone using iFile, a known mobile file manager for iOS.

i've read that iExplorer can do it but i haven't tested this personally.

I'm sure it can, iExplorer access the directory of the device, simple goto /var/mobile/Applications/Minecraft PE.
I could call my self a hacker for knowing all this.. :smile.gif:
