48x48px textures aren't possible best to my knowledge, they have to be powers of two. Because there is no such thing as half a pixel.
That's just how it works.
Unless Minecraft automatically sterches the textures into the nearest possible power of two, in wich case making 48x instead of 64x would be pretty pointless, as the textures would be sterched anyways.
48x48 means that each default minecraft pixel is 3 x 3 pixel grid, so it should render fine.
lol, Im almost sure this is the 64x version. Also, 48x isn't one of the resolution sizes, its 16x, 32x, 64x, 128x, and it keeps doubling, so this is fake/stolen
Theres a 64x version? And 48 x means that every 1 default pixel is 3 x 3 for 48 x texture pack so it should work for all of you as it works for me.
Hi This is my first forum post and I wanted to share a 48 x 48 Default based texture pack based on Vattic's 32 x 32 Faithful. It is still a Work in Progress so many things are not done but if u still want to check it out go to the links below.

well i suck at all 64 x 64 but 32 x 32 is a lot easier so I found the one that is 3 times the default.

I made this From the Default texture, just re sized it and made it smoother.
do I need permission to alter the default?
It should work in 1.5 I've tested it with latest snapshot.
