Definately set up small 'colonies' at the mouth of the delta and the mountain, respectively.
Only use about 50 people each, so you can prepare for further colonization.

Where are you from?:
USA, Georgia. More specifically, the former RMM.
Your age?:
15, nearly 16.
Have you read and agreed to the rules in the post below?
Yes.
Did you vote for us?
Yes.
Extra notes?:
Missed the demise of the RMM because of something bad happening in my family, which kept me of minecraft for a while. And now I have no survival server to play on, and I miss it. *frowny face*
I'm guessing no one else caught this? haha.
*one last try!*
and i applaud you, sir, for getting dwarf fortress. it is amazing in it's second greatest form. (minecraft being first, of course)

Thinking back to Dwarf Fortress, the wiki for the game has a long list of 'super projects' (or something along those lines.)
Minecraft has every opportunity to have the same project list, and allows the same challenge given by said list.
But for people like me, who can't really think of an amazing challenge to do, are at a loss. And while i know only a portion of players would actually care, i'd like to see a section on the wiki or as a sticky on a forum of a list of super projects for people to read and choose from. I don't know how i'd set one up in the wiki though, but i think it'd be allowed, after reading the rules page.
:ohmy.gif: amazing. too bad i donb't pay enough attention... i keep forgetting to take my pills :sad.gif: (litterally... i really need to start remembering that :/)
i ususaly just build a flat, dirt road (or at least have stairs on it, no jumping stairs the entire way) and light the road with stone blocks with torches on top.
Only if you want to be fiercely knocked out of your fantasy, noticing that the bubblegum river you jumped into was really a pool of lava. But a rainbow mushroom that changed the textures of everything for like 2 minutes would be awesome.
