I'd say about 90% of this thread is people telling others to be patient...
Anyway after reading LolwutCraft's post about how a good chunk of the code is broken now, I say go to creative mode... FOR NOW. (Yes, live with its crappiness, at least the time will fly faster.)
The whole reason I used Single Player Commands is that I could control more graphics options. On 1.8 I can't play the game well at all.
I understand it would be more realistic and that it "makes sense" but from the stand point of achieveing and progressing in a video game the idea doesn't make sense. You would be given the items instantly without having to wait. It would destroy thw time input.
Anyway, that's why mods are created. I'm just trying to defend the official implementation of the bed.
I assume the OP is talking about the beds that Notch implemented and how they do not pass actual time, which would make items smelt, but just make it day.
I think that Notch made it this way so you still have to wait for your items to smelt so you cannot instant smelt.
From looking at the tutorial page it just gives coordinates and essentially says "Go crazy." Is there any easier way to play with the coordinates and model a new mob?
I'm doing a re-skin right now, on everything. as right as you are popalocke, its just not satisfying enough. I want to see some Imps walking around. (I.E. skeletal archers.) and some zombehs! dont know what to do about the cyberdemon just yet... spiders will be spiderminds. and so on and so forth.
I mean enemies can be imps, sergeants, cyberdemons, etc. The playable character needs to be Doom Guy.
Does anyone have files for foliagecolor.png and grasscolor.png that actually make the top of the grass blocks match the sides of the grass blocks?
That visual glitch probably need modifications to how grass is rendered. The only way to achieve that fix withouth code changes is probably making all grass use the same color (removing the tinting effect).
1. The grass is now a dingy and darker green color. This takes away from the charm that the graphics of the game had. The darker green seems out of place.
2. Random splotches of different terrain. There will be random spots where there is a patch of sand or snow or other terrain. Biomes should be larger and not just randomly patched together.

This is what I wanted.

I understand the game is still in Alpha. I never said I would stop playing Minecraft for all eternity.
Anyway, presentation is part of any game. If it sucks then it can affect the game.

Most definitely. The problems that I have can certainly be fixed by the final version or by future updates.
