There are only 3. You must be misremembering.

I killed one upon entering. Found a long hallway where another one was. I hit that one until it stopped being visible in front of me. It made a horrible sound of pain and then a block appeared where it once was and floated to the ground along with some green glowing orbs.. I picked up the block and orbs and then saw what I assumed to be a third one. I hit that one until it too vanished, leaving another block and some more of those green glowy orbs. I suppose it's entirely possible that the second elder guardian simply teleported away leaving some exp and loot behind. Or maybe I mistook one of those teeny little guardians for one that takes up the whole room.
Either way I gave up on the temple.

How many elder guardians are there to a monument? I keep reading that there is only three but I just murdered my third one and I am STILL getting that blasted debuff! Whats more, the milk doesnt really help since the game seems to check every 30 seconds to see if you have the debuff or not. If you have it, it waits until its almost out to reapply and if its not there it reapplies it no matter how much time is left. I am never gonna clear this monument at this rate!

posted a message on Does this mod exist?
I'm looking for a mod that, when activated, will randomize my wool colors with every wool block I place. It would likely have a way to turn it off in the settings, but I was aiming to do some weird projects and it would be cool to take the choosing of color out of my hands completely. Would be nice if it didn't need forge though as that thing has a bugger of a time installing properly on my computer for some reason.

posted a message on Chat Issues
    The Problem:
I am frequently unable to type anything into the chat box. ANYTHING. Commands, words, numbers, random headbangs on the keyboard, nothing.

    The Facts:
    - I am running a mod. Rei's Minimap. It is configured properly and has never given me issues. It also doesnt affect the chat box at all beyond telling me that it is booted up when I log in so I don't see it as an issue.

    - My keyboard must be plugged in, seeming as I am using it to type to you right this moment. Also, I'm on a laptop so I fail to see how it could suddenly become unplugged.

    - Further proof that the keyboard is working: I can move around freely and I can open the chat text box with no issue. But as soon as it is open, all the button pushing in the world will not make any typing appear.

    - This issue is random. One minute I will be ripping out my hair in frustration, and the next it will let me do a single sentence before denying me again.

    - Nobody else on the server is having this issue so it is on my side.

    - I did try reinstalling clean and not running the minimap. Same issue.

    - It doesn't seem to happen on single player.

    - Opening the chat box with T will give me a blank box i cant type in. Opening it with / will give me a / in my text box but wont let me add anything to it.

    - This problem just started recently. It did not come up with the last patch. Just the last 24 hours.

Any insight that can help out would be appreciated.

Don't open it. Just rename the zip file.
    Jeeze.
I see this stuff everywhere but theres a huge issue thats being overlooked.
This is happening while you're extracting it from a jar too! Not just when you're repackaging your folder to put back into the bin.

Take for instance, a simple mod install.

    What's supposed to happen:
    1) Extract jar into a separate folder.
    2) Insert mod folders into the extracted jar as per instructions of that mod.
    3) Archive whole kitten-kabbodle into a zip.
    4) Rename .zip to .jar
    5) Put .jar back into the bin.
    6) Enjoy modded game.

This works. I've done it at least 3 times with each game update, as I update all my favorite mods. This is the procedure I use every time and the only times that it has failed me if when I space out and forget to delete that damned metainf folder thingy or whatever the heck it's named.

    What actually happens:
    1) Extract jar into separate folder.
    2) Get annoying pop up message saying that the aux.class file already exists in the totally empty folder you're trying to extract the jar into.
    3) Try renaming the file only to realize you can't rename it back before you try to repackage your jar.
    4) Try extracting again, this time replacing the errant file like it wants only to find that the file breaks itself almost immediately.
    5) Search Internet to find that nobody has anything useful to add beyond "you're probably trying to install a zip folder where there should be a jar" despite the fact that you haven't even GOTTEN to the part where you put the jar back together yet.
    6) Swear profusely at the computer for a bit then give up in a huff and go play something else until the bug gets fixed in a few months. Maybe. If they remember to work on it.

This is a seriously annoying bug. One of my main game files literally cannot run without its mod (It's a Tropicraft mod) which apparently needs Forge which I can't install without .jar access >_<
I'm trying to find a way around it right now but I shudder to think at the agony that will ensue when I try to install any of my other mods!

In the wiki it says if you light it on fire with lava next to where the minecart is, it will not cause damage, correct?

I am assuming that your minecart went straight through the lava.

Please forgive me if I'm wrong.

no i had netherrack lit on the sides of the track so that it felt like you were riding through a blaze. When you hit the corners though, it reads you as partially in the fire and lit me up like a roman candle.

No ideas but I love your avatar xd

Thanks :smile.gif: a friend of mine is rather good at making them.

I read up in the wiki that when you light a minecart on fire and you are IN said minecart, the world around you burns but you take no damage.

While testing out a scare tactic i made on a roller coaster, however, I found this to be rather inaccurate.

I had a room of fire with the cart driving right through the inferno, and while testing it I found myself a little more than crispy when I came out the other side. :VV:

Not that I'm complaining, mind you, as it made for a nice sneak death trap ambush, but I can't help but wonder if it's supposed to do that and the wiki needs updating or if this is a bug and should be reported. :unsure.gif:

    Ideas?

    Quote from RaidZero

If you do over-write it just Force Update Minecraft.
Alternatively create a .zip file for your texture pack and put it in the Texture Packs folder.

What would need to be in the zip pack? Just the terrain png I make?

I recently got all the instructions needed to hack and slash my own texture pack together.
However, to save it would require overwriting the terrain png in my jar.
    enter the n00bish questions!
Won't this permanently change the textures in my game? What happens if I want to go back to default at some point? Perhaps, to only use my hand made pack on certain worlds but not others?

If someone could give me a better run through of this process, I would be most grateful :smile.gif: :Diamond:

if it was a bad chunk, it should crash the game or boot me when i jump in it. But I can wander freely in it and even build.

There was no sand in the area before, Just dirt and stone.

My friend copied the whole level.dat. I sent him the entire save file from the single player map I was using so that I wouldnt loose what i did already.

Its not like these holes are evil or anything, Just confusing lol
