Hello, I am ninjajmm, owner of the CarlCraft Realms server. We are hosting an event this Saturday (September 2, 2017) to commemorate the birthdays of many of our staff (including my own), and another amazing year on our small server. The contest will be an Ultra-Hardcore styled survival contest with several game changing items and locations to make the game more interesting.
The map is a 1100x1100 limited area. Most of the map is a city (graciously provided by the builder, Epicsawrunner... you should check out his builds!) that has many secrets, hidden loot, and hobos. Yes, hobos seem to be the only inhabitants of the city, but don't worry, they will not do you any harm... hopefully. The contest begins on a small boat just off the coast of the city. When the game begins, players will be allowed to leave the boat and given a few items to start them off. After a two minute peace period, pvp will be possible and player will have to compete to be the last player alive. In true ultra-hardcore fashion, whoever dies, will die permanently. Your choices from there will be to spectate the rest of the game in spectator mode, or leave. Exceptions will be made if something dumb happens, for instance, an obvious command malfunction. The game may take a fair amount of time, as there will be no name tags, however, we will try to hurry it along with events like border shrinking and affecting all players with glowing. Also, I cannot guarantee there will not be any trolling from spectating Admins. I will try to keep trolling to a minimum... nothing more than maybe a missing piece of wood or two. The winner will be crowned "Ultra Deathmatch Champion" and all the glory that comes with it.
As for the server rules, we only ask that you obey the following- no hacking or cheating and respect other players respectfully. For instance, if someone kills you, acknowledge that it is only a game and reply with "Good game, fellow competitor. You have bested me.", or something polite and not angry-like. Try to avoid that feeling of tenseness and rage if something doesn't go your way. After all this is a celebration of... celebration and happiness... and the best way to celebrate happiness, is with a fight to the death, of course! Come lighthearted and optimistic! Man, at this point I feel like I'm reading a dictionary.
Any violation of the rules or disrespect will result in, of course, a ban from finishing the competition. Also, we should probably mention that the map is very large and has many commands that may cause lag, so if your computer can't handle a normal Hunger Games server, you probably can't handle this. I will admit, however, that I will be playing on a laptop this Saturday. So whatever.
The event begins at 1:30 (Atlantic Standard Time). At about 1:00, you will be invited to the server and allowed to join the world. The longest the deathmatch will go to is until 4:00, maybe 5:00. All we need to allow you to join is your username so we can invite you to the Realm! We only need seven players, and we will let everyone know who has been selected before Saturday on this thread. No other communications, such as Skype is needed... just a regular ol' game of pvp.
