    posted a message on When you start a new build project, how do you like to go about it?

    I always start by laying down a basic framework, no matter what I am building. Even when building something natural, laying out where you want slopes to be can make the final build so much better.


    Next I finish the base build, basing it off the framework set earlier. After that, I detail the build. The hardest part is really just figuring out what you want to do with the build, after that everything should come naturally

    What do you like about our server? it has mods and it doesnt seem like its pay to win. No idea why both of those together are so rare, considering mods add so much to minecraft and theres kind of a few lines in the EULA about the latter :/

    Favorite mod: Botania is my favorite mod of all time, but out of the ones in this modpack definitely mekanism.

    Comment: I havn't actually joined the server yet, I"m currently trying to troubleshoot a strange bug with either the modpack or techniclauncher, where the game closes and techniclauncher re-opens as soon as its finished initializing.

    Yes, if you keep swinging as fast as possible you will do virtually no damage whatsoever, which is why you wait for the cooldown to finish before you swing again. Missing will still count as a swing, and decrease damage until the cooldown is complete.

    Swords were barely nerfed at all, even in the change from 1.8 to 1.9.


    It takes 0.63 seconds to recharge a sword blow, vs the 0.50 seconds it takes for a mob to lose its invincibility frames.


    This is only a delay of an extra .13 seconds, or a little over 1 tenth of a second. In the time you could land 10 sword blows in 1.8 you would land 9 in 1.9 swords were barely touched at all, and will probably need a larger nerf in a later update, considering how they recieved the new utility in an AoE knockback effect. If anything, swords have been buffed.


    Axes on the other hand, lost about 25% of their dps, with a diamond axe dealing 9 dps in 1.9, vs the 12 in 1.8, assuming you land every blow. This is ok though, since it was never intended to be a main weapon, and mostly serves as utility (smashing in shields and cutting trees)


    If anything, swords are better and axes are worse. Survival in general should be a lot easier than before, considering all these new toys you get, such as boosted regen, shields, and an AoE knockback.

    It seems like this is basically just a Terraria blood moon that half the players will end up ignoring


    All you do with this is tweak some numbers, there should be something that causes the players to feel true fear as the land is cloaked in blood-light, not just think, "meh, ill take a bit more damage, doesn't matter since vanilla mobs are so weak." While I feel like new mob suggestions are overdone, I would recommend it for this one (Maybe a vampire bat? Should also have some unique drop, maybe for a potion)


    As for the loot? overworld mobs drop virtually nothing of importance, other than rabbit feet, but a simple farm will cure that problem easily

    Not like the mushroom biome is super important, lack of mooshrooms hurts, but you can farm normal cows for food anyways and mushroom soup is a huge inventory filler.

    By the time you beat the ender dragon you most likely have full enchanted diamond gear. mobs are not an issue anymore by the time you are at this point, except for maybe the rare enderman. It would actually harm you, since you would be missing out on important crafting materials from killing these mobs, which you can always find yourself running low on. While there are plenty of reasons to visit the end, this is a well balanced suggestion and adding another reason to visit couldn't hurt.

    Not supporting this idea is the same thing as not supporting pistons because you can just mine the blocks and place them somewhere else.


    This is a great idea that simplifies redstone and creates a lot less lag than having a bunch of clocks.

    No, I'm pretty sure I'm not looking for that. While it's a great suggestion and does share some similarities with mine, these ideas are completely different. My idea is about creative custom textured items, while his is more about making customust items out of existing textures, and says nothing about weapons.
