    I wanted to let others know not to use this company for your server needs. I wasn't sure where else to post this, so if this topic needs moved, please let me know.

    I've been a good standing customer for years with GG Servers. I have multiple servers, but they have suspended my 2GB account for non-payment despite paying on-time via autopay through PayPal. I've gone every route I can to communicate to GG Servers on deaf ears. The only thing they've done in further communication is letting me know they are charging me late fees. They show no sign of resolving this issue nor refunding me the money they stole for services they refuse to provide.

    I'm beta testing the 15.0 build and I love that pistons have been added, but you can't use pistons for block updates. I've tried several designs and powered piston BUD switches do not work. I know this originated as a bug in the PC version of Minecraft and it was such a beneficial bug, that Mojang purposely left this bug in place, so I'm wondering if there is going to be some sort of work around in the PE world. Not sure what I'm going to do on my restroom breaks at work. LOL.

    posted a message on Troubleshooting a Mob Farm

    Ever since the world generation included unlimited size and caves, mob farms stopped working in my worlds. I thought maybe it had something to do with how high mobs could spawn in the y-axis, but I've had mobs start to form on incomplete mob grinders I was working on above the ocean.


    I've done a lot of troubleshooting in my mob farms and still have had no luck at all regaining their former glory of operation. I did find it is possible to get a few mob spawns within an enclosed building at ground level on my superflat world, but something I noticed is that hostile mobs don't seem to despawn at all. If I travel around, hostile mobs spawn in various locations, but if I travel far away (several hundred blocks away) the mobs are still in those locations. If during the day and not protected with armor, they start to burn (exclusion of creepers and spiders). If they are hidden from sunlight, they never despawn from my personal experience.


    I tested my theory last week and spawned 20 types of hostile mobs in captive rooms. I traveled approximately 500 blocks away in one direction and returned. All the mobs were still inside their cells. I traveled in each direction an equal number of blocks away and returned with no change in results. My determination is that hostile mobs do not despawn. It's annoying beyond words, so I just sit hoping they fix it eventually.

    What is your overall experience with binary? Are you strictly limiting your inquiry to Minecraft related redstone devices? I've never tried to work with anything within Minecraft requiring binary. However, I work with binary and hexadecimal formulations quite often due to the nature of my job being a signaling systems engineer involving Diameter (LTE), IMS and IP network protocols. I'm not sure if I can be of the assistance you require, but thought I would throw this out there in case I can be of any help.

    You spawn on a small island in a pool of lava, so you die as soon as the world generates.


    However, I do actually like the world because there is an ocean monument right beside this small island. There is another island within swimming distance that has a couple cows and some trees, so you can succeed if you start in creative then switch to survival.

However, the guardians and zombie pigmen spawning in high numbers in my farms seem to always greatly affect the spawn rate of other hostile mobs in the immediate area instead.

    I don't know if the mechanics of guardians are like that of dungeon spawners that override the natural spawn rates of other hostile mobs. I know Xisumavoid did a video showing that if you spawn the maximum number of zombie pigmen without killing them in a gold farm and just let them pile up, no other hostile mobs will spawn in the area until you walk away and let the zombie pigmen despawn or kill them off.

    Does anyone else know if this behavior/game mechanic holds true?

    There are larger islands nearby. The fact that you spawn on a small island is irrelevant since you can swim to the larger islands and there is an ocean monument practically at spawn. I thought it was worthwhile to post my seed and he could use it if he wanted.

    I created this seed in 1.8.9 and it spawns you on a small island right next to an ocean monument. There is a nearby island with trees.

    The funny thing is when you first come into this world, you spawn in a lava pool.

    The server side render distance needs to be at least 10 or greater and that will fix the spawn rate issue. I had this issue with mob grinders on my server last summer then I found out about the under 10 chunk render distance bug on a server. I usually set my render distance in the server properties to 10 or 12 chunks and my mob grinders then work flawlessly.

    Killed all Elder guardians, surrounded the ocean monument with sand walls, disassembled the monument after draining all the water, built a guardian farm, lost many hours of my life on this project. LOL. Sadly, I'm doing it all over again on a friend's server.

    I always make a large prison and keep them in individual cells. I keep a vast number of librarians to trade with for enchanted books and many of the other items they offer, farmers for loads of XP and emeralds, clerics for trading rotten flesh from my grinders and getting bottles of enchanting, glowstone, eyes of ender, etc. I use the rest of the villagers I get from my breeder farm and use them in iron farms. Villagers are extremely useful in the game, but yes, they are incredibly stupid which is a good thing.

    • Some things that you like to do on the game: I'm addicted to vanilla survival. I love building full auto farms of all sorts.
    • Any additional things you want to say: I'm just really wanting to play with someone around my age that is into survival as much as myself. I have my own dedicated server through beastnode and it is whitelisted. I also play with my boys on my server, ages 8 and 12 and they are incredibly respectful of others and do not grief. Playing on my server is meant to be stress free and fun. I have too much stress in life at work and outside of work--playing games shouldn't be frustrating as well and my boys know this. Most of the time they stay on their own dedicated server, so if you decide to play with me, 99% of the time you'll mostly be dealing with me and not my kids. They know they will lose computer time if they grief on my server.
