That sounds great. Do I need a particular program to open .mca files?

posted a message on Need a map of loaded chunks
I have a ton of resources on my map, so I have to get creative about how I store them all. When I got 8 stacks of lapis blocks (yeah, I mine a lot), I teleported out a long way, dug under the ocean, and created an 8x8x8 cube of lapis for super secret storage. Unfortunately, I wrote down the coordinates on a computer that is currently a couple hundred miles away.

I would love if someone would make some sort of a script that would let me know what chunks have been loaded so that I can check the outliers for my precious blue stone. If this already exists, please let me know.

I had this happen when I placed a torch, which will make mining a pain. I guess I'll just play back on 1.6.4 until it's patched.

It's probably been pointed out, but it should be "aesthetic," not "atheistic." That's a big difference.

Anyway, I agree with you. I don't know how the villagers could have gotten into Steve's clothes.

I support! This would allow many more redstone possibilities, and I'd be able to freely decorate with sand.

posted a message on Down the hatch! - Iron Hatches
We already have trapdoors, so why not iron hatches? An iron hatch would be to a trapdoor what an iron door is to a wooden door, in that it's sturdier and can only be triggered by redstone. I feel that it would be a nice touch to industrial or nautical creations or would simply look cool.

    Thoughts?

Well Kaiser, I wasn't aware that anyone was desperate to mutilate bats. Sorry to hear that.

posted a message on Bat Ears For Helmets!
I like customizable armor, and I'm sure others do as well, so I have an idea: Bat Ears! Bats don't currently have any drops, so with this drop, you can collect them and add them to your helmet. How does this work?

Well first, the ears would be able to match any equipment. If you put a Diamond or a Gold Ingot in the crafting grid with the ears, you'll get Diamond or Gold ears, respectively, which can then be added to the helm. For Leather Helmets, You can simply dye the ears, and them add them. They wouldn't add any armor bonus to what you're wearing but would simply look cool.

    What do you guys think?

Why is that ear-splitting xp orb sound still here? I like most of the other new ones, but that one is just terrible.

No one has tried to connect just yet, so I can't say anything regarding that, but I can say that while I hosted from and accessed from my laptop, I could connect via the IP address.

posted a message on Server connect error
I had been running a Minecraft server for a while from my laptop, but I built a PC recently and now want to host from it. I am connecting to the same router, but I have adjusted the port-forwarding to this new PC's IPv4 address. When I connect from my external IP, My character spawns with no terrain, falls infinitely, and the game crashes, showing this error mesage:

    Connection Lost
Internal exception: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out

Note: When I connect through localhost, everything works fine. It's just when I try to connect to the IP (75.xxx.xxx.xx) that things get weird. Help?

Negative. The connection is gigabit connection with which I have had no problems, and the computer is a custom-built gaming PC.

When I spawn, exactly what happens is that everything around my is dark, and I fall infinitely. It's as if the server can't reload the terrain...

posted a message on Can't Connect to my server's IP
I set up my server on another computer, but now I have a new one, using the same router. I believe that I have all the port-forwarding issues resolved because when I run the server, Minecraft recognizes it.

I have my server saved under my IP address, and when I get on, it shows the server with 5 bars of strength. I cannot, however, connect to it. I can type "localhost" in Direct Connect, and it works just fine, but if I click on it as I would any server, I load with my inventory just as it was; however, I spawn and fall infinitely. It then gives the message:

    Connection Lost
Internal exception: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out.

    Any thoughts?

I have deleted the world folder for a new one. I am running the server on more RAM. No help.
