posted a message on Brand new Vanilla server. Looking to build a community!

    IGN: Realtor

    Age: 19

What do I want to get: I'm looking to join a small group that is a community. Building a village, town, or working together towards a common goal in a survival setting (and not having to worry about griefing/raiding) is what I'm really looking for. Been a few months since I've last played and I want to get involved in a whitelist server because it has a better feel :)

IGN: Realtor Age: 18 About Me: I'm an 18 year old guy... been playing Minecraft for more than four years now. Love the game, and love multiplayer. I work full-time as a real estate agent, but I do like to spend time by relaxing and playing around a bit :). Why would you like to join: Seems like a fun server. I like survival, whitelisted things... and never really got into before. Decided to branch out a bit and try out a mature whitelist server :)

    Thanks for reading!

posted a message on How to deal with troublesome admins?

100% agree with the responses you've gotten so far. YOU are in charge of the server, not her. Your staff are there to assist you... not control you. As the saying goes, "one bad apple spoils the bunch". If you have a poor staff member, you need to remove her immediately regardless of what she brings to the server. Short term loss for a long term gain. If she isn't following the rules, remove her. End of story.

posted a message on Real Life Server

The most popular servers are a gigantic collection of smaller servers that all tie together. Even the most massive of servers never usually have more than a few hundred people per node. I love the idea and have thought about it many times myself, but to do this, you'd need a gigantic community movement to get anything to work reasonably well. If you got a few popular YouTubers to sponsor the idea, then you might get enough publicity for a few hundred people to all come on and play.

Well my first suggestion would be to backup all of your files on your computer, and then immediately shut off your server...

posted a message on What Minecraft has evolved into

I miss the good old days. I got the game at the beginning of 2011 and still vividly remember my first server I played on. A nice Towny server that balanced PvP, building, and survival. Things were quiet, yet exciting at the same time. The community on the server itself was great. I remember how we constantly worked together, or had battles and all still had a good time. Yet it seems nowadays, everyone is all about action, action, action. Sure I love a good minigame once in a while, but the gigantic number of OP Factions or Prison or Hub servers is absolutely mind-boggling. Had it stayed the small indie game it was in the beginning, I think the development path would be very different than what we have now.

posted a message on Is there a good way to move villagers short distances?

Dig a small tunnel and use a water bucket. There's no easy way to move villagers around... So using a water bucket will help push them in the direction you wish. Good luck!

Huh that's snazzy. Is there a way to replace the horse with a pig? They're more expendable and easier to breed... so I'd like to do that for survival.

posted a message on Make dispensers place ANY sort of block instead of dropping them

This will never be implemented into the game... Doing this would allow for automatic farming which Mojang has stated many times will not be possible. Although I think it'd be nice to see something like this, it won't happen.

Also, I agree with Hidiety that they'd have to rebalance droppers. The ability to automatically place blocks should come at a high resource cost... and cobblestone and a piece of redstone really doesn't represent that.
