There are some bugs in the game that I think could be easily fixed. One well known one is breaking bedrock to get above the nether ceiling, and I think it has been in Minecraft for many versions, but can't this be problem be prevented by not allowing blocks to be placed above the ceiling? Do they not have time for fixing these things or don't want to fix it? These exploits make the game more fun for many people so it might not be a good idea to fix all the bugs.
You have probably used the trick of holding down spacebar to reach the higher blocks of wood that you normally wouldn't be able to reach when chopping down trees. When you do this you constantly jump up and down and for some reason the block breaking doesn't reset even though you can't reach the wood for a short time, allowing you to make progress and break the wood. This also affects me negatively, for example, I broke a piece of obsidian in a farm that converted nether quartz ore to nether quartz, right in front of my eyes, while i was still placing the ores down. I was very surprised when this happened but I think this is the cause. Is this a glitch or not?

4 What time zone/part of the world are you from? US eastern
5. Are you going to school (and what type) or are you working (what's your job)? High School
6 Have you been banned on a server before(wont effect your chances, so just be honest)? No
7 A little about your life: I like video games, especially Minecraft. I play some sports and do pretty well in school.
8 What’s your experience with Minecraft? (when did you start, how long have you been playing?) I started playing Minecraft around 2 years ago and now I've gotten pretty good at it. Minecraft is so complicated so there are still some details that I have trouble remembering, but I'm pretty experienced.
9: what are some great stuff that you've built, What would you say you're best at? Redstone? big buildings? etc.?
I consider myself pretty good at redstone, and I really enjoy building automatic farms so I can have all the resources I need.
10 How often will you play? Are you daily? once a week? and for how long?
I will be able to play around an hour each day. I'm busy with other things like sports and school as well.
11 If you have a YouTube channel, please post it's info here.(how often do you upload, subs, etc. etc.)
12 Past experience on other vanilla servers?
No, just singleplayer.
13 What is your favorite block?
Mossy cobblestone
14: Anything/extra information? Feel free to post pictures of your past builds here!
By the way, wither skeletons can spawn in 2.5 high spaces in 1.12, I just tested it. I watch Ethoslab, he's pretty good at redstone and is a nice guy. I really do feel lonely on singleplayer and I can't find any good vanilla servers. That isn't possible if it's not a whitelist server. Ones without an application always contain a lot of cussing, griefing, and immaturity. Building in a server will be much more enjoyable.
I watched some tutorials on witch farms and huge ceilings are always used to keep the spawn pads dark. However it seems like putting walls around the spawn pads would be a lot easier.
"A random location in the chunk is chosen to be the center point of the pack. For the pack to spawn at all, the center block must be non-opaque, or must not fill its entire cube, or must be powered," says the wiki. So it seems like walls may reduce spawns slightly. Has anyone tested this out?
This contraption automatically crushes mobs until they can be killed in 1 punch. It may be very useful for blaze farms because it will eliminate the need to press any buttons, making XP farming more automated. In the bird's eye view the hopper timer on the right contains 30 items and the one on the left contains 26. The mobs fall down the stone brick tube. I'm not too good at making compact redstone so if anyone can improve this feel free to share!
Forgot to mention that on the left hopper clock the right piston is sticky and the left one isnt.
No, the spawns are spread out across the full height a chunk is filled to, in increments of 16 blocks (chunk sections), so a default Superflat world (less than 16 blocks deep, so 1 chunk section) will have a 1/16 chance of a spawn attempt succeeding per layer because the game will randomly choose a location between 0 and 15; by contrast, if the world is 256 layers high, even if the lower 255 layers are empty, there will only be a 1/256 chance of choosing a given layer, so the spawn rate will be 16 times lower
The farm still seemed to spawn more in the superflat world at build limit.
Maybe I will read that thing then. I'm curious why, and I'm pretty decent at redstone. Its really dumb because I was powering the dispenser with a redstone dust directly on top of the dispenser and it didn't activate. And yes, you were right, it does depend on the location. I tried it 1 block away and it worked... that is so weird. at first i thought my world was corrupted! I think i understand now though. The redstone on the dispenser unactivates first but the dispenser is still powered through the quasi-connectivity thing so the dispenser still thinks its powered when the diagonal block unactivates and doesnt receive a block update.
Thank you TheMasterCaver. So according to that video if you build a mob farm low but build something else at world limit the mob farm still won't spawn much? Sorry if I misunderstood.

Terracotta has a better connotation in my opinion

So tails I don't want to read that whole thing but are you saying it activates the dispenser twice or something?
0
Oh well it didn't work for me. The dispenser activates 1 time after connecting the redstone and stops working.
0
I see what you mean but when the hopper timer turns on again it should undispense.

A constant signal can activate dispensers right? Try that out to see.
