posted a message on FreeBuild Krylus SMP Servers [Bukkit]
The FreeBuild Krylus Servers are solidly built servers, with one of the most friendly communities, and an influx of 5-15 players at any given time. Lag is nonexistent, and the people are helpful, but not boisterous. The admins are respectful, and wield their power in the right ways. Many of our members say that we have one of the best servers out there, even though we aren't a large server. (32 player cap)

posted a message on [Help] Creating a rotating wheel ?
    Hello!

I have had some minor experience with Java, creating a few blocks and tools, but nothing significant or worthy of posting. Is there any way to make an item, which when placed turns into a 3 x 3 wheel of sorts, and begins rotating? Is this possible at all? I have seen similar things done with the Planes mod, how the propellers rotate and such, but how would I go about making a rotating wheel?

    Please help!

I decided to make my own Old Spice commercial in Minecraft. Found some lyrics already made for Minecraft (from a comic) then modded them to suit my purposes and to be unique. Here it is:

Fixed the major lag spike, it was because of the bottomless map. Lag free, and insanely fun now! :coalore:

The server is back to normal planetoids, and no longer required GunMod! No requirements to join, just no griefing, hate talk, swearing, pervertedness, etc. Use common sense, and you'll be fine.

    Howdy all,

I have set up a Planetoid server, ( http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=89218 ) due to the immense demand on the forums for this type of server. I have heard your call, and decided it would be awesome to create something like this, and it would be a benefit for all. You do need to be approved by an admin (ranked up), but other than that there is no whitelist. A maximum of 16 players.

    Our site: http://www.krytek.tk/
    Main server IP: 66.31.196.115
    Planetoid Server: 66.31.196.115:25566

    Enjoy! :Diamond:

posted a message on What is the best Server OS?
Hi, I am hoping to purchase and custom build a new server soon, and I was wondering:

    What OS is best?

-I am not quite fluent with the command line, but I know a lot of commands. Still, I would need a GUI of some sort.
-I need an OS that can run MCLawl, which runs on Mono
-I need and OS with MySQL support
-For my SMP server, I run hey0, so of course Java would be needed
-I am currently running Ubuntu Server Edition 10.04, with XFCE as my GUI. Should I stick with this for my new server, or is there anything else out there? It would be best to have a very simplistic and minimal GUI, with only a web browser (chrome or firefox), and a file system that can be seen through a GUI.
-I don't necessarily need a desktop, just someplace where I can browse files using a mouse, not a command line. A folder with a bunch of files in it would work, desktop is not essential.

    Please help!

posted a message on What server hardware would be best for MC servers?
Hi, I was wondering what the subject says. I have a great amount of knowledge with computers, programming, and building computers/servers, and I was wondering what sort of server would be best for running a Minecraft server?

I already have one server, but I seek to expand my empire by purchasing a faster server. What are the features most needed for running Minecraft servers? (memory, cpu speed, dual/quad/octo/12 core, threading, etc) My current specs are:

    AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+
    1800.0 MHz
    512KB L2 cache

    320gb drive
    4gb DDR2

    Ubuntu Server Edition 10.04 (x86)
    XFCE

    -----------------
No real budget, but way below a thousand. Do server mobos have any special advantages over a desktop mobo, besides being able to handle beefier processors and more ram?
