posted a message on Farming Moss Stone
Many people have suggested crafting moss stone. That, in my opinion, cheapens
it up a bit and doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. So I came up with this idea
that would make it more realistic, more satisfying, and ultimately allow the automatic
farming of this resource with no need to craft every single block of mossy cobble.

With this idea, mossy cobble will spread using the following method: If the moss
stone is touching water, and is next to a normal cobblestone block also touching water, it
will convert its neighbor into a block of mossy cobblestone in 10-25 seconds. This requires
you to have found at least one to start with. That means, of course, that you may not be able
to start farming it if you get unlucky and there are no dungeons or mega taiga areas around
you. But have no fear, there is still hope!

To make one mossy cobble block: You may craft a bucket of milk, 2 carrots and 4 seeds
with a block of cobblestone to make one Nourished Cobble block. It just looks like a slightly lighter
block of cobblestone with some bits of milk and crumbs on it. Place it in the water, and it will turn
into a moss stone block. The time it takes to convert from a Nourished Cobble to a Mossy Cobble
varies, but is a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 7.

posted a message on Forge Development Environment/Eclipse error
I had been dabbling in a bit of modding previously with the old Risugami's Modloader.
I wanted to get back into it a bit now tat I've had a bit of experience with modding other games, such
as Don't Starve ('Soopa' on Steam if you want to check any of that out. You probably don't.)
I've noticed that Minecraft Forge is starting to replace the old modloader and boasts some smexy
features (like a custom sound system that actually works!) So I downloaded the latest recommended
Forg src file, installed as the wiki instructed, and was about to get to work on a test mod.

Following the directions, I was going to set up the boilerplate but was immediately stopped there.
When I tried to create a new package in forge/mcp/eclipse/minecraft/src using Eclipse, I got this message:

    Creation of element failed.

Reason: This file system is read only: /Minecraft/src/testmod.

So...what do I do about that?

Yes. And on various topics, depending on length, you will indeed find post
    numbers such as #42, #69, #420, #666 and #1337.

    Top-notch comedy right there.

See, Minecraft isn't SUPPOSED TO MAKE SENSE. Why do you think there is no backstory, no plot, no objectives? Because MC IS A GAME, not real life.

Let's harass Dinnerbone to make the grass range in shades of red and pink, having grass
be GREEN is obviously just adding TOO MUCH UNNEEDED REALISM BECAUSE MINECRAFT
    IS NOT LIKE REAL LIFE.

WOLVES SHOULD FLY AND SHOOT EYE LASERS.

Yes, Minecraft is a game. But it is, or at least is MARKETED as, to a certain extent, a survival game.
A survival game should incorporate features which make surviving a challenge of course, and a big part
of survival is finding, obtaining and cultivating food. Survival games are more intuitive if they incorporate
realistic elements, as survival is a very instinct-driven exercise, and instincts are obviously based off of
reality and nature. And besides, more importantly than consistency and realism, hunting in Minecraft as
it is isn't fun or exciting, the whole purpose of a video games existence.

Solutions for farms? Build a slaughterhouse, lead animals out to it and kill them out of the site of their
fellows. That's how people did it, still do it, and always will do it. Except for McDonalds, where they
probably just cross cow and lettuce DNA and grow "beef" in tubes.

Hmmm...an interesting idea for a sort of sentient NPC race, and does manage to feel "Minecrafty", being

posted a message on Cake of the Gods: The Recipe for Disaster (Updated 10 December 13)
Personally I agree that there should be some limited-quantity, "first come, fist serve" item. It's fun in faction servers and stuff when one guy has diamonds and that faction becomes "that faction" that everybody is afraid of. But then eventually EVERYONE gets diamonds at some point, highest level enchants, and everyone is back on the exact same tier, since infinite world = infinite diamonds, infinite mobs = infinite xp = infinite enchants. When everybody is on the same level there's no real major force of "good" or "evil" and it loses that sort of fun and exciting feel. Maybe not ONLY one per world, but still.

I'm well aware of what negative responses do, but I know what a joke thread is. I mean come on dude, he suggested a "hamaxe". He also suggested pest mobs and gloves that can teleport players in your hands at will. See the pattern?

So out of all the suggestions I have made, I made 2 really bad ones, and I gave a new tool a name you do not find absolutely awe-inspiring, and so therefor everything I shall ever suggest from that fateful day that I made that pest mob suggestion forward is going to be a joke?

Why not Slowness 5? 5 is enough to prevent the player from moving.

This. Giving the player excessively high slowness will not only stop the player from
moving but eventually wrap back around and reverse movement controls.

It's "highly too specific"? What, I should be less specific? Ok, how 'bout we can go to the nether
and get some supplies to make some things that do all kinds of stuff.

    Is that better?

No real opinion on the Hamax, other than it kinda confused me on what it does, exactly. All I get is you break a single block after charging and it adds some fancy particles.

No, it's basically a half-axe half-pickaxe with an area of effect which destroys multiple blocks in one swing.
