Just to note, there are mods for MC:PE.

Irrelevant. The OP was asking for a Non-Jailbroken solution.

Alright, a lot of you know me as @MCPEUpdateinfo on twitter, and a lot of you have taken into consideration my ideas, but I figured I'd give this idea a little more publicity.

Lets get down to my idea, shall we?

A lot of you do not have jail broken/rooted devices, and many IOS users can't mod because of not being able to jailbreak. I have an idea that, if implemented, will ease the mod process.

My idea: Johan, if he adds online support to the minecraft website, can add a button that lets you go to a seperate page on the minecraft page, filled with mods that you can export onto the minecraft game itself.

Some of you might argue that you can't download to an app, but I argue that it's possible. Just look at all these downloader apps you can get for free in the App Store.

Feel free to critique, and please, point out what could conflict!
You can also press that little button in the corner... ;D

Your idea is legit but there are multiple issues:
    1. Hardware:
All mods are developed via Java amd mobile devices do not come with the computer version of Java.
Quite a bit of mods are also resource intensive, which does not coup well with mobile devices.
2.(iOS) You would have to find a way to bypass /var/mobile without jailbreaking which is practically impossible.
    3. Security
Some mods are scams and contain malicious software or code and possibly viruses
4.(Android) Although I am no Android user, I am Pretty sure that you would have to root to access internal files on Android

If you can't remember all the recipes then use something like NotEnoughItems (like the person above me said). It has a build in Usage and Recipe Menu

I bet you all $1, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000 that this guy didn't even look at DW20's support thread... he said that he does not support Tekkit/Technic or anyother kind of modpack. He only supports his own(which u have to download the mods manually)

The post above me is the truth. ForgeModLoader is basically the new ModLoader(put very very bluntly)

I think it will be easier if you use MultiMC, all you do is create an instance, add mods(there even is a build in Forge downloader), add mods with a drag and drop.

posted a message on Forge Has Gone to Far!
I am starting to get sick of this damm complaining... if you don't want to use Forge, then go bug the damm developers of the mod about it not, the people who spend valuable time making this API. For those that are the coders, which might not seem interesting to users, it is a great API to use since it lets coders do so much more then they could with Modloader, I mean you could use ModLoader if u like (which will still be compatible with Forge because of FML). For the users it is great because it includes the 4096 fix which lets users install more mods than they could have before with ModLoader. But if you still want to stick with ModLoader than that is fine with me... and you want to use big mods such as IC2 or BC3? Sry not the API developers problem... you just have to keep bugging the mod developers to make a ModLoader version. Final thing to say... no one likes the people who start these pointless posts complaining, are people (who I think) are not taking initiative and asking themselves. They are just people who are sitting back right now and "hope" that this will just solve itself which in reality won't happen.

    Any questions?

well i need help i meen i can never get forge to work (i use mcpatcher) what forge do you download there are so many

MCPatcher adds code which is not needed which screws up how some mods can launch. My best peice of advice is for u to use MultiMC or etc...

While I don't agree, I do agree on the whole forge topic. Basically whenever I see forge as a requirement, I skip the mod. Not that there's anything wrong with forge itself, but the installation of the whole has broken and kept me from playing minecraft for well over a year. I now use magiclauncher, and forge isn't compatible with that, or most of my favorite mods like rei's minimap. I don't understand why people can't just use modloader. Why the sudden change to forge?

If you use MultiMC it will ensure total compatibility (well installing wise not block ids and such) with Forge

Challenge accepted! I will openly admit that you are smarter than me if you can pm me a working version of IC2 without forge.

@NoOpen First I am not young and I understand completely the concept of "ripoffs", if you copy someones design and use it to take over there business even if it is better you are still ripping them off. Second Your argument makes no sense, it is not easy to modify a mod to make it a non forge mod, you would have to completely rewrite the mod. For someone like me that has 6 to 7 mods that are forge mods that would not be easy. And I have experience in writing programs including C#, C++, and Java. And I have been modding Minecraft for over a year know. So I would conclude that for the average user it would be impossible.

@dmillerw FML does work better in some ways than modloader but the way they achieve that is the problem I have with forge. They download and overwrite any "corrupted" class files. In other words even if forge did not modify the class file if it has been changed by anything other than forge it is overwritten. Now I can not prove this and the people on the forge forums deny it but they can not explain why the log file has the following lines in it when I installed this mod in the jar file.

2012-09-27 01:57:13 [FINE] [ForgeModLoader] Enabling mod Mystcraft
2012-09-27 01:57:13 [FINE] [ForgeModLoader] Activating mod Mystcraft
I also have single-player commands installed and it does not appear in the log and it is not loaded. Even if I put it in the jar file after forge. and overwrite any class files. I can fix this once single player commands releases its code for 1.3.2 by just combining the changes in the class files so I would have a forge compatible version of single player commands. Or I can wait for the FTB team to do it so they can use worldedit on there maps.

Also, I am not the first to say this FlowerChild was working on forge and seen that this is what they where aiming towards and that is one of the reasons why he left forge and decided to make Better than Wolves a non forge compatible mod. If you don't believe me go look it up.

Umm SinglePlayer Commands is now installs in the form of a .jar... meaning that you would have to launch the jar to install it....
