"Yes, well, that's all and good, but most people notice when you snatch a book out of their hands..." I pause in thought. "Then again, not all people are seeing out of many eyes at once. If we are able to make multiple distractions throughout the city simultaneously, she would be focusing elsewhere and wouldn't notice if a quick switch was made in front of her own face. The only problem is, what do we replace her book with, and where do we go after we get it? Ellesmera, perhaps?"

So, this bug hasn't been resolved yet? I have smooth ligthing set on maximum and game patched
with MCPatcher, but I still keep getting lots of these. Any workaround?

No. The reason these occur involves Minecraft's lighting code that saves a lighting value for each side of a block. Sometimes, in world generation, these values are messed up for whatever reason, and the only fix is to update the lighting by standing in the block, changing lighting nearby, or breaking and/or placing blocks.

Ok, let me try to get that straight. (I´m sry if some of my expressions don´t fit: no native speaker/writer).

Let´s assume I start a new game in version "Default". No mods whatsoever, terrain is generated, I build something, then save the game.

Now I start the launcher again and this time chose version "Mod xy", with integrates some new blocks for example. Suddenly I find the savegame, created 5 minutes ago. I can load it, play with the new mod?

Is that intended? But what is going to happen, when I load this savegame in "default" after that? Modded blocks gone? Or does that savegame get "split up" in two different versions?

I hope you understand what I´m trying to figure out...

I do see what you're asking, and I'm sure that the save won't split into two versions. It really should have been a feature of the launcher to make separate save folders for separate versions but it does not, for now. You'll need to just keep worlds clearly labeled and use the correct ones for the correct versions. If you do want something that will make separate folders, I think you should try out the magic launcher, but I don't think it works with 1.6 as of yet.

((I think I may have gotten it... But I'm not really sure. Maybe if you bold the part that was a reference I could get it?))

Hmm, judging by the witches stressed powers, this strategy makes sense. By enslaving dragons, she'll be able to spread her influence without need of a huge army. "Do we even know if she's capable of controlling a dragon? I don't recall her ever doing so, and even if she could, where would she get enough dragons to take over a city?"

((Hmm, I don't really know what to do. I feel like our characters will just pass each other, with Concor and Arinola on the streets and you hopping across the roofs. I guess maybe you can just spot us since you're apparently looking for us.))

"Alright, try to stay either 20 paces ahead of, or behind me," I whisper. "That way, if one of us bumps into a minion, we'll have some room to back off, and the minion will have less of a target." With that I start pacing forward at a fair speed, without making a noticeable amount of noise.

The minion comes walking up the staircase, obviously the witch is sparing no effort in controlling this one, it's eyes focused on the stairs ahead. I make an effort to breathe slowly, and he walks past me as a bead of sweat rolls down onto my brow. I quickly run down the rest of the steps. "Let's get out of here, Arinola."

    ((PAGECLAIM.

    Deal with it.))

"Sicam? The assassin turned hero? No, I haven't heard from him. After the three dragons and the gray folk attacked, I separated from the group, since I felt I'd be rather useless in the war against them. I've been wandering around these past seven years, helping and healing those I encounter. So, I haven't heard from anyone in our little group, until today." I continue walking down the stairs for a moment, and then I hear something: footsteps. "Make yourself scarce" I whisper as I again activate the invisibility spell and press myself against the wall of the staircase.

"I think we should confer with Nathaniel. He always seemed to know what to do when it came to the witch. Did he leave his body behind when he went to the shadow dimension? I think I left mine behind when I went with him." I get up off the staircase and offer a hand to Arinola. "You're right: one can hate someone till their last day on Earth, and it wont get anything done but waste time. So let's go do something about this."

((Sorry my posting schedule's a little erratic. Also, Tektonic, can't you just sort of look back a few pages? His name's something like gales10 if I remember correctly. He was sort of bonded to your character as her sort of rider. I do hope he'll come back, I could tell you guys were going to be a pretty integral part of the plot.))

I can tell Arinola isn't pleased about hating her. Like most elves, she likes to keep a tight stranglehold on her emotions. "Emotions are just a part of life. If you didn't have them, you'd be no better off than the mindless slaves the witch now controls. Just remember that for all the hate you feel, it is possible to feel as much love. For all the sadness in the world, there is just as much happiness."

((You didn't want to post IC Bobert? O.k.))

I head over to the trapdoor, and climb down. "Can Nathaniel not come out of the shadow dimension for some reason?" I ask after waiting a minute or so.

I'm usually not very good with detecting emotions, but it's fairly obvious that Arinola is feeling a range of emotions from anger to sadness. I step forward and pat her on the shoulder. I signal that we should go back down through the trapdoor, so Nathaniel can come safely out of the shadow dimension.

After reactivating the light bending spell, I climb up the trapdoor after her and silently close the trapdoor after myself.

((I guess we should stop here, since Bobert apparently has a plan, and I don't know whether he thinks she'll be here/should be here.))
