dont use chromobye. their servers go down ALL the time.
I have a co-owner, who also rents another server from chromobyte, so together we rent two dedicated servers from them.
Our first dedicated server went offline about 2 weeks ago; chromobtye support has done NOTHING.
and today our second dedicated server went offline, and anyone want to take bets for how long it will take to get back up?
In the 6 months i have been with chromobye, my server has gone down over FIVE times. Generally, my server is offline for a week or two. One time, my server was offline for 3 weeks. STAY AWAY FROM CHROMOBYTE AT ALL COSTS
Now im starting the long process of reviewing them badly everywhere. this is getting so annoying, chromobyte killed my servers popularity, and the community. and the longest they have ever been online for a stretch of time is a month. It has been impossible to get my server back where it was before chromobyte went down so many times.
I am trying to start a petition thread to get people together citing that their hosts have been offline for almost a week now.
Paypal disputes against servers are hard, and i just paid $190 as random hoping i would get my map back, but alas, after i pay up i get no more contact. hopefully if a lot of people all agree that minecraftlayer went down the drain, they will agree with our dispute requests, seeing obviously that minecraftlayer went AWOL.
If you have been screwed by these guys, please post a little tidbit here.
They might delete the posts on their own forum, but they seem so lazy i doubt they will do anything.

Yeah my server went down too, servers in Dalas all have cancer. Mine goes down extremely often, and the internet speed feels significantly lower than before (1gbps used to feel no lag).
Im sad to see the best hosting company go...and because i paid my server bill today, thinking my server was simply offline because of an unpaid invoice.
If your server is sitll online,i would highly reccomend backing up your files ASAP.....my plan was to switch hosts, but it appears i cant get my old files back at the moment.
On a side note, my tickets ARE still being responded to, but im usually just going "why is the server offline?" and they copy and paste back the dallas center has been having problems (they have had problems for months now).
I would really like to see them turn around, these guys were the best
I don't think going to court with a company half way accros the world over a small amount is the right way to go about this. Odds are you will win the dispute.

Our ToS clearly state that we reserve the right to not faithfully offer a refund, and you accepted that, but we are a faithful company and will always (or 99% of the time) refund the full amount back to you.

Your visible service guarentees actually override your TOS.

I have printed dated copies of your faulty TOS, I have faxed them to paypal as proof of the date of that effective TOS. This will be important evidence if this elevates.
also here is a cached copy of your TOS from 4/21, Which will reflect the original contents even if the TOS is modified.
I made an order for a 6gig Tekkit server. The owner promised the ability of custom jars, instant setup, and 99% uptime guarantee.
They promised hat they would be able to install Java 7u3 so that Tekkit could run, and i went ahead and placed my order.
Before i evenld have placed the order they knew that java 7u3 wou to be installed, but put it off an entire day instead.
(They are from sweden, so if you want to see them online for 15 minutes before school expect to stay up until 3am)
They were unable to figure out how to install java, even after i provided instructions.
(for anyone who hasnt done it, installing java on linux is as easy as installing dir, moving it to the right place, and setting the alternate java)
Somehow in the process they ended up breaking java, and everything apparently. This happened on 4/24/12. Since then all of their servers are down, their login pannel displays a 500 Error, and neither of the two people running it have been on skype much.

I have opened a paypal refund request for $39/$45, i am not trying to take every cent. They did put effort into trying to fix the server, but their services are not what i am currently looking for. I need a host with a 24/7 customer support, and who are able to properly control their server. If they would even reply to me in skype i would easily be able to fix their problem in 15 minutes, but the lack of communication makes this totally bunk
Please honor my formal request for a refund of the unused remainder of the hosting month.

If you wish to try and escalate this to a paypal dispute i am VERY experienced. I have won two disputes of $500+ selling VIRTUAL ITEMS. I have never lost a dispute, i am willing to call my moms lawyer (she provides childcare for his son, we have a good trade, saved my brothers ass a few times) and notarize an official submission small-claims court, and contact paypal with official proof of payment, and proof of your negligence, and request for contact information. He provides his services to us for free, so its no cost to me.

Woolcity runs a great service! he let me login to the Test server first and walked me though setup with his panel. The servers run amazing! But as my server has custom mods i have had to look to renting my own dedicated machine, and Woolcity was happy to help me figure it out!
He pointed me in the right direction to finding a good dedi, gave trustworthy reviews, helped walk me though set-up of my dedicated server, and helped me install java 7 on linux!
