Sometimes, every now and again, people like to play vanilla minecraft, to experience, oh idk, new terrain generation, or new commands/items, but they don't want to lose their dedicated community/playerbase because of an influx of griefers. We have commands to disable mobs from causing damage to the environment, but regrettably, if we want to play 1.7.* we are SOL because we don't have a stable, or even a beta version of craftbukkit to use any plugins.
I for one think it is a perfectly legitimate frustration that there is so little that can be done to counteract griefers. Sure I can ban them, but that only helps after the fact, and only if you manage to catch the griefer in action. Sure I could whitelist my server and only let people I know and trust onto the whitelist, but that would only end up limiting the people I can share my IP with and breed a sense of fear and frustration.
If the plugins are so well-used and so available, why can't mojang incorporate some of this code into vanilla to help solve a problem that is very important, very legitimate, and very serious?
I want them to fix both the transparency issues and the fact that we can see the other side of the block through the glass first)
Just a heads up; Dinnerbone has stated on his twitter, and on mojira that this is not a bug, and is not only intended, but required for the semi-transparent stained glass. There will not be a 'fix'.
I literally just cried when I loaded the snapshot. It breaks my favorite texture pack because iron bars and window panes are new dimensions. Excited to hear that flowers are coming though. Really excited!
While this has come up several dozens of time son the forums, I still give my full and unmitigated support. This has been a block lacking since the beginning of Adventure mode and vanilla servers would let out great cries of joy.
What are the chances of getting a biospheres generator that is SMP compatible? I don't know if it's been asked, but I've searched pretty well without any real information.
No Support. This seems excessively lazy, OP, useless in survival and, frankly too easy to craft. It isn't end game. I can achieve this in the first day of play on a brand new world.
Please, tell me this is a very belated April Fools joke. You're trolling us, right? Wow. I'm shocked and surprised that this was even an idea. Firstly, if you think that beds ruin the experience, then how about you, yourself, not use beds? It seems like a pretty easy solution to your own perceived lack of difficulty.
Why punish everybody else who is playing casually or perhaps not abusing these 'bugs' as you call them?

I'm confused - Is there or isn't there a whitelist? Your title says there isn't "No-whitelist" but on your post, it asks for you to fill out a whitelist application. But, I'll fill out an application anyways.
Thanks.
We have an emergency whitelist. If there arises the need for us to secure the server, we will initiate it, but for the foreseeable future you are fine. Matter of fact, I saw you on earlier, and granted you [Citizen] status.
Showing off the contraption is kind of pointless if you don't have an explanation of what each command block does. I know it's fairly simple and straight forward, but some basic information for those people less-versed in command block usage might be useful.
As the snapshots keep coming, it will probably get less laggy. Mojang is in the process of rewriting the rendering engine and I don't believe they are done yet, but they claim that whatever they do should triple framerates.
[unsourced]
I have never heard anything having to do with tripling framerate, do you have a source for this, at all?
A: This has been suggested far too many times, it's redundant, and there is a search bar for a reason.
B: The current rendering engine cannot support the gravitational and mathematical computations needed to sustain this world, as the radius of the world would be in a constant state of flux everytime you broke a surface block. Conceivably, you could reduce the world to zero blocks and the second you tried to place a block you'd crash the game.
Awesome idea! While we're at it, let's add wheels to the crafting recipe for minecarts! And knobs for doors. And nails for wooden planks. And a binding agent for glowstone dust to be turned into glowstone.
Or let's keep it simple like we've been doing and not require people to have a stock of dirt for whenever they want to make a pot for their flower!

This seems to be due to your resource pack, as the exact same configurations do not result in the diconnect in my default pack.

No support. No paradoxes, thank you.
