    posted a message on [1.5] FML : a new mod loader
    Quote from JaykeisBrutal

    I am so confused. What does FML do, exactly? Do I replace RML with FML?

    No, they are designed to be compatible enough to work side by side, though I've run into a few problems programming with this one, so I'd stick with RML, as it is the one that everybody uses.

    I'm just glad that you told everybody here not to post things under the mapping/modding section due to the damage it would to the modding community.
    I understand why people would want to do this stuff without code, but it scares me to think that people could create what is, essentially, the same mod without any kind of variation.
    I see a programmer's mod generator being more useful(not to mention destructive) because it would allow automatic creation of menial code by gui, and thus in bulk.

    hi is there a way to set the .setHardness() and .setResistance() for metadata.

    yes,
    @override
    public float getResistance(int meta)
    {
    //code
    }
    @override
    public float getHardness(int meta)
    {
    //code
    }

    Its that simple. Good luck

    Very nice, the simplicity does not take away from the visual appeal of minecraft. However, the mooshroom looks very creepy, too much like an undead cow, if you ask me. The red color of the mooshroom should be a bit brighter.

    Quote from _Corrado_

    That would be pretty cool, wood armor? Special walls for houses?

    I hadn't considered armor yet, but I'd have to make it expensive, or really bad, either way.
    Thanks for the idea.
    When you say special walls, what do you mean?
    Special as in, different shape, or special as in, its made out of this wood, so its blast resistant, but it doesn't grow stupid looking leaves on it?

    So, I was thinking about the wood from the Neutronium Alchemist, how it was described as being as strong(if not stronger) than steel. It got me thinking, why not for minecraft. I have not made much yet, and this may, or may not work as it should.
    It will, if I get around to it, include various kinds of blast resistant wood products, possibly including a modified torch block, a slab, and or a ladder. This mod isn't going to have a real use, and as of now(3/18/12), it does not have anything to it other than a block that grows like reeds, and can be cut into four more logs.

    So, recipes,
    a square of four logs produces one section of this wood, which can be put down anywhere to grow(sporadically), and putting it back into the crafting grid will produce the four logs again.

    The trees grow to be 5 blocks tall, and are crowned with a ridiculous, three leaf blocks.

    I haven't done anything since the dirt mod, so, this may cause issues, though if another mod uses blockids 244-245, it will conflict.

    It should go without saying by now, but it does require modloader.

    posted a message on School has done an overkill on website blocking...
    Try a proxy, if that doesn't work, try a vpn, but these only work if you have the option of using a computer of your own. As much fun as it is to change settings on school computers, that tends to carry a fairly heavy sentence(or at least it does in my school's occasionally draconian rule book).
    Btw, the guy who suggested that internet was not necessary seems to have been trolling you all.
    Either way, the internet is not only a great resource for research, it is also the greatest waste of time that mankind has ever seriously concentrated on maintaining. So, while I like the internet, there are many people who are at my school(at least), that could never deal with unrestricted access.
    Anyways, I would try those options, but be careful, the administration of schools does not like to see kids work around their rules. It tends to, at least at my school, to make them angrier than if I had just broken the rule in the first place.

    This is the best mod I've ever used.
    Its everything I've wanted in minecraft, and it even beats out my dirt mod(sarcasm).
    You've done well, I can't wait to see how it turns out, especially if this is not even done.

    The only Issue that I've found is that it seems to make minecraft halt and resume, kind of annoying, but the mod is so great that I'm going to keep it anyways.

    Now, I know that some people have issues with this kind of question, but is there a tutorial that I can find that can help me write a function for generating a custom tree?

    Is this how Eloraam does it? also, I'm confused, and I really can't ask for help from you, as I've not read the entire source file to figure it out completely.

    I think that the modder is skilled, however his bitchy messages that he replaces the minecraft menu screen with irritate me to no end. Also enderdragons are awesome, wolves are awesome, this mod, while entirely functional and useful, is not awesome because it feels clunky; it doesn't mesh well with other mods, and its a ***** to uninstall.
    I have in fact used this mod, and while it was fun for a little bit, it eventually lead me to fresh install minecraft.
    There are mods that have similar features and do it better(Though my dirt mod isn't one of them).

    Does this version fix the problem for you?

    Can you see if this version still works for you and if the rendering issue is indeed fixed (it should be).

    I thought I had some examples of vertical wiring, but I'll check it out.

    That does indeed fix the problem, thanks.

    The new ModLoader required that I added a public void load(){} method, which I did. I don't see how an extra return statement would make any difference. I cannot reproduce your error, you will need to provide more information.

    Err, sorry, I forgot my own solution to the problem, put all of your mod initialization code into the load method, that is what fixed it for me. That is also what the people on the #risucraft channel recommended.
