hm.. i was not aware of such a feature! (referring to the 41 which i assume refers to data value for gold). I guess the wiki documentation needs more info.
But are you sure the addition of 41 on a [Station] sign works? I did a quick side by side test with one sign just saying [Station] and the other saying [Station] 41 (the way you had it on the 2nd and 3rd lines), and both hooked up to the same lever. Both appeared to go at the same speed, and for sure stopped at the same place at the same time.

There is actually no such feature (yet).
Edit_1:
oh, nevermind
apparently the 3rd line wasn't needed. O.o
the station block functions as a booster regardless of what's on the third line.
Can someone Please make a tutorial for using station blocks as trigger-able boosters? :/
So far this is what I've managed to gather regarding the use of station blocks:
[*:2dy4tf0n]Without a sign: redstone to the obsidian block = stop/neutral release
[*:2dy4tf0n]regarding signs: 2 blocks under the track; "[Station]" on the second line. Does Nothing.
There is Absolutely Nothing online for how to use obsidian as a booster. Nothing. It's assumed that everyone already knows the details in All documentation.
*very frustrated*
You are so close! Yes, you need an obsidian block with redstone wire leading up to it, followed by a sign under the obsidian block that says [Station] facing in the direction you want it to go. Depending on the power toggle of the switch, it will either stop the cart when passing over, or boost it. The "station" block requires the sign. The "booster" block that doesnt require a sign -or- redstone is a gold block or a gold -ore- block. If all you want to do is do a speed boost, just use a gold block.

If you're still having trouble, hopefully my Station vid can also help.
Thanks for the help. I figured it out through trial and error about an hour after my post though.
The sign was 2 blocks below the track, not the obsidian (1 below the obsidian).
so basically,
[Track]
[]
Exact sign text:
*blank*
[Station]
*blank*
*blank*
Sign text side facing away from direction of boost.

This has probably already been said but:
The term 'griefing' simply refers to actions which bring some type of suffering to others.
As such, what falls under this category is somewhat subjective. "What bothers the individual?"
Private -whitelisted -for a small community. (55-60 people)
My server was public for the first week or two. Bad idea. = /
1) I was fairly incompetent at catching griefers in the act at the time (I'd only ban if I saw it happen --still do)
2) someone posted my IP to /v/ :|
I'd say about 1 out of 3 random people who joined were griefers. (I'm not exaggerating).
I really don't get why they bothered griefing the server. At the time there was only one rule: Don't Grief
30% griefrs is way too high a percentage so I whitelisted.
Honestly, if I were in Notch's position and little [EXPLETIVE DELETED] were DDoSing the site do to some misguided sense of entitlement I'd cease development, retire off of my earnings, and sell the game to Activision.
Apparently a guy named nick...whatever, can backdoor hack into servers. Good luck. I would contact notch and see if this is serverwide or ect. Im not sure.

I was mistaken about the '41' bit.

Everything went better than expected. :smile.gif:
To get past the map chunk bug he's making a series of automated closed mine cart circuits. As you reach the end of the one, you get on the other.
