    I don't miss anyhting from alpha. It was a great experience at the time but the Minecraft modding community are making the game better and better all the time.

    I could never go back to playing alpha, it would be just plain boring.

    I think they are referring to the give book, give enchant book in Dire's console. However he tried to put an enchant on a sword which failed. The anvil devoured the book but didn't put the enchant on the sword.

    Is it cheating? It depends if the enchant is allowed on the sword. The anvil allowed the enchant so I'm guessing it was a bug that Dire rectified by giving items. If the enchant isn't allowed on the sword the anvil wouldn't of let you enchant it, but it did.

    EDIT: I mean the Pickaxe of the Core, not a sword. :)

    The reason I checked for the redstone cell is because everytime I shutdown the game and restarted the turtle would move. It didn't realise it was already charging/powering the quarry.

    Also, if anyone wants to condense this by all means do as I think you may be able to.

    Which spotlights?????? the man does and has TONS of them, honestly think it's a bit unfair to those of us joining Dire's series for the first time for him to just start a complex system then tell us to go elsewhere to find information on them.

    LOL! Immodium, you must have edited your comment just as I was replying. :) So, can you tell me yet what is missing?


    If you have not looped the code, each time the turtle "purtles" :) you have to run the code again as it only runs once. When it runs once it will check if its at power station or quarry and then decide on what to do next.

    The missing lines of code you can see for yourself at around the 31:44/45 of the video. I'm completely new to LUA so can't take a guess what he has coded after the THEN as it's off screen.
    The THEN follows a getItemCount command, which im guessing is checking if the redstone energy cell is in the turtles inventory.

    EDIT: It looks like he has put some turtle movement commands under the checkLocation function if the turtle is at the quarry. Maybe he has moved the movement commands from the actual program and moved them to the function?

    Actually I did work that one out. It's actually only ))).

    Just before he wrote that code (with the 5 second delay), he wrote the same code to teleport the turtle to see fuel it used.

    Maybe the seed issue is a mod problem.

    Can anyone confirm that mods actually adhere to the seed? When the world is generated by a seed, vanilla minecraft world gen code stays the same. However, world generated stuff via mods might bypass that alltogether and just plonk stuff randomly after the seed has been generated.

    I think it's vanilla minecraft game mechanics. If you had to re-build a new portal in the nether, you enter the overworld through a newly made portal.

    People use it to quickly traverse the overworld I think.
