    EchebKesoMocap modMocap's source code

Blockbuster is a Minecraft mod which lets you create Minecraft machinimas in singleplayer using NPC body actors. This mod works with Forge for Minecraft 1.10.2, 1.11.2 and 1.12.

Blockbuster mod depends upon Metamorph. Every new change log will specify the version of Metamorph supported. Blockbuster is also provides optional integration for Aperture mod.

Recording is based and rewritten from scratch on recording code from Mocap mod by EchebKeso.

    Features

Blockbuster mod provides you with lots of features to make cool machinimas:

    • Actors and player recording – the most important feature, as you won't be able to create a machinimas without it. With Blockbuster mod you can record yourself doing things and then playback it using an actor. Recording code has some limitations on which actions it can record. See Blockbuster Wiki for more information about limitations.
    • Director blocks – one actor is good, a crowd of them is even better. Blockbuster mod provides you with a mechanism called director block which manages playback of registered actors. It allows you to record actors. It has also outlets for redstone contraptions, making it easy attaching some custom commands or redstone logic on start or the end of the scene playback.
    • Aperture support – camera is how you present your machinima. Blockbuster mod has built-in Aperture integration. When Aperture is loaded, Blockbuster mod provides you with some features such as: ability to attach camera profiles to playback button, and previewing director block playback while editing cameras in the camera editor.
    • Custom models – recording only player-like entities limits the originality of your machinimas. Blockbuster mod let's you create custom models using McME model editor or in-game integrated model editor. Unleash your creativity with custom models!
    • Mobs support – thanks to Metamorph's public API, Blockbuster is capable of using any morphs which Metamorph provides to be used by Blockbuster actors.
    • Minema compatability – thanks to frame-based player recording and cameras, you can convert your in-game machinimas to videos with a press of a button.

    Install

Install Minecraft Forge, download the latest stable version of jar file for available minecraft version. Also install following mods: Metamorph. Put it in minecraft's mods folder, and launch the game.

After that, Blockbuster mod should be installed and will appear in Minecraft's mods menu. If Blockbuster didn't appear in the mods menu, then something went wrong.

    Tutorial videos

Feature videos for 1.4. This playlist shows how to use the mod features. Almost every update comes with a change log video which show out new features.

There's also a video that shows how to create a simple machinima using Blockbuster mod. This video shows basics of director block, how to attach actors to director block, and how to setup cameras:

    Machinima Examples

This playlist consists out of videos that I've created a bunch of machinimas during Blockbuster mod testings and just when I felt like. Earlier of those videos are my lab experiments.

Metamorph (from Metamorphosis) – a Minecraft mod which allow you to morph into mobs.

Most of vanilla mob morphs have their abilities (preconfigured), meanwhile most of modded morphs only grant you appearance and some attributes like health, unless configured. Morphs can be disabled and configured. See mod's wiki for more information.

Heavily inspired by iChun's Morph mod and zacuke's Shape Shifter Z mod, and works only with Forge for Minecraft 1.10.2, 1.11.2 and 1.12.

    Install

Install Minecraft Forge, download the latest stable version of jar file for available minecraft version. Put it in minecraft's mods folder, and launch the game.

After that, Metamorph mod should be installed and will appear in Minecraft's mods menu. If Metamorph didn't appear in the mods menu, then something went wrong.

Change log video for Metamorph 1.1.4 by me:

Mod showcases of Metamorph by other people (including in other languages):

    How to play

To morph into other creatures, you must to acquire a morph first. To acquire a morph, you have to kill a mob, then a ghost of a mob will appear (that's a morph), and when you'll pick it up, you'll acquire a morph.

Once you have at least one morph, you're able to transform into that morph. Use [ and ] keys for advancing through the list of morphs. There are also ' and \ keys for switching between morph variants (you'll see up and down arrows in the selection box if there are morph variants available). Use enter key for transforming into selected morph. To demorph, you scroll left until you focus character with your skin, and then press enter to demorph. Or you can press demorph key (which is . by default).

You retain your morphs even after death (although you can disable retaining of morphs after death in mod options). In creative mode, you can select almost any available morph via Creative Morph Menu which can be opened by pressing B key in the game.

Survival Morph Menu can also be focused, for managing purposes, by pressing N key (default). There you can favorite, remove and filter morphs by favorites. You use the same keys to navigate morphs ([, ], ' and \).

    About morphs

Every morph you equip or apply grant you different look, size, and health capacity. Except those properties, every morph also has special abilities, attack and action.

Abilities give special properties to morphs. Chicken morph will slowly fall and get no fall damage. Spider and CaveSpider morphs will be able to climb on the wall. Bat morph will be able to fly and has a night vision.

Attack is an effect which is applied onto attacked entity. For example, if you hit some entity while being in CaveSpider morph, your target will gain poison potion effect. If you'll hit an entity while being in VillagerGolem morph, you'll throw your target high in the air.

Action is a special ability that is triggered by action key (which is V by default). Examples: in Rabbit morph, you'll jump high; in Creeper morph, you'll explode like a creeper, and so on.

Blockbuster 1.4.8 is out! Change log is way to big to post here, so go ahead and read it on GitHub.

reck829, user_414122: your feature suggestions were implemented in 1.4.8. reck829, I added two sliders to rotate actor's yaw and pitch angles. user_414122, see Mod Options > Blockbuster > Actors for the config option to always enable nametag rendering (if there's no nametag, it won't be rendered).

I put some other skins in the config folder skin model, and all the skins shows up with a black and pink skin. 64x64 and all those Skins "are correct" don't know what happens. Version 1.4.8 preview.

    Thanks for all.

Edit: Ok seems to be the NAME OF THE .PNG Just put for example 01.png. And works! (Short names)

Yeah, that happens because 1.11+ force paths to lowercase, that's why even texture exists, the Minecraft code forces lowercase and thus the texture can't be found. This phenomena is described in the wiki, on FAQ page ;)

However I'm glad that you figured out a solution pretty quickly :)

Uhm, you can use /entitydata @e[type=blockbuster.Actor] {Rotation:[90,0]} (for example), but that probably even harder than record, playback, stop. I'll try to squeeze that in 1.4.8.

About config descriptions, no, I'm not a German :D But yeah, I'm not 100% fluent (around 90% I would say, haha), but also yes, I was in the hurry when wrote down those comments (I always in the hurry when writing config comments, because it's boring :P ). Thanks for corrections, I'll walk over language files as well.

By the way, if you want to try out some new features (which aren't in the preview) and you have Discord, hop on Blockbuster's Discord (invite link is in OP). Camera editor is the next big thing ;)

It seems that that solution doesn't work. I have copied and pasted it literally, and it doesn't seems to solve the problem. Any new idea ?? Maybe some new command?

Hm, if that didn't worked, then I'll try to squeeze that into 1.4.8.

Well, I probably haven't mentioned this anywhere on my mod pages, but have documented it in the wiki, NOT every player actions are available, for now. Recording player's actions are quite hard, but what's even more harder is to reproduce some of them. For example, if I would try to make Blockbuster record fishing routine, I'll have a hard time finding out how to make this exactly fishing routine played back exactly as it was. For some scenes, you should use ReplayMod, where you are the main actor that does such things that requires exact same playback as you recorded. Unfortunately, morphs aren't supported by ReplayMod (I guess ReplayMod doesn't record capabilities), at least that's according to RetroidTV (circa page 5 of this thread).

Anyways, for boat situation, you can try out 1.4.8 preview build. It's coming out pretty soon (I'll try to release it on the weekend). It supports use item action which will allow you to place boats. However, you'll have to kill boats after your actor has placed a boat. I recommend to place a command block adjacent to the square part of the director block and type in following command: "/kill @e[type=Boat,r=20]" (or something like this).

The other bug is quite entertaining, though :D

I imagine which kind of fun videos can be create using this bug. "The-Ultimate-Flying-Helicopter-Boat-Man" :D
