    Having said that...

    I have all my same version mods in a folder named 1.7.2 mods, 1.8 mods, etc. and click Add on Magic Launcher, point it to the required mod in the current version's mod folder, click ok and it's done.

    Ah, I see what's happening. Before you do any selecting there are some boxes along the bottom. Click the leftmost box and then select an area.

    If you're wondering how I found out how do to stuff on MCEdit then YouTube has loads of "how to" vids.

    World edit can do that.


    Block probability

    The block probability pattern is specified with a list of block types (which also support the block data syntax mentioned above) with their respective probability.
    Example: Setting all blocks to a random pattern using a list with percentages
    //set 5%diamondore,95%dirt

    For a truly random pattern, no probability percentage is needed.
    Example: Setting all blocks to a random pattern using a list without percentages
    //set obsidian,stone

    That's all it's supposed to do. It only downloads as far as you can see in the server world. To get more you have to move around. To download the whole map you have to visit every part of that map or at least enough to see everywhere in that map.
