Yep, you did that right xD You are running Battlegear2, which I mentioned in the update post has issues with the latest versions of Forge. Try using 10.12.1.1046 instead, as that version worked for me with BG2.
hmm, strange, I don't seem to have issues with battlegear2 and forge 10.12.0.1059. No crash at least. I've been using it along with your mod and thaumcraft (since it came out for 1.7.2 a few days ago)
Apparently the dungeon core block have some issue in my minecraft:
The block is invisible and allows me to see through the world. It also is kind of laggy around
it and when I place it in creative mode.
If I try to load up a chunk that has this block in it with the shaders mod, it crashes my game.
(It only does this since the last update I think, since I no longer can go places I could before updating)
note: (while using shaders mod)
If I destroy the dungeon core block before loading the game with shaders in, the game won't crash.
If I place it in creative mode, the game instantly crash.

I've got a suggestion / question about this mod. Let's say I've built this thing:
What's been built is actually only about half of it, the other side is supposed to be identical so I was wondering if there was a way to mirror the left side of my castle to the right side. The only thing I managed to do with this mod is to "flip" half of the castle but the copied half have its rear in the front... which isn't what I'm trying to do.
fog is great, really good performance as always but oh boy DOF focus is too fast ! flicker flicker flicker .. any way to get a much smoother transition ? like Seus ... he does that pretty good i must say !
You can change how strong the DOF is in Final.fsh under #define DOF and Chocapic even included a few presets.
Try the one under "Near to human eye (for gameplay, default)", it works perfectly for me.
...
btw, can anyone point me at where to change values to make nights and caves darker? they're a bit too light for my tastes
I've been getting this Connected texture crash when using this texture pack along with Biomes o'plenty:
java.lang.NullPointerException: Registering texture
at ConnectedProperties.findBiome(ConnectedProperties.java:212)
at ConnectedProperties.parseBiomes(ConnectedProperties.java:187)
etc...
After a bit of playing around with the files, I found out it was due to the "biomes= (...)" in the block properties.
Apparently, if one of the biomes written in that property isn't found in biomes o'plenty, the game will crash.
I'm not sure wether the crash is due to a bug in optifine or biomes o'plenty itself so I'm posting it here so people can make their own fix by changing/deleting the "biomes= (...)" field accordingly to their needs. Although, with the size of this texture pack, doing this might be quite time consuming =P
I have just changed from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1, and I am getting crashes upon loading a world.
My minecraft log is to long to post, even in spoilers, is there a specific log i should look for?
I had the same problems and turns out it was an ID config between thaumcraft and the new version of ars magica that both used the block ID 4095 if I remember correctly. (flux goo and witch wood stairs I think). If blocks IDs are the problem, check if you can change them in the config files. (and remember that the max block ID you can use is 4096)
It's hard to read and i'm sure you know why lol
Any fix or better way to read this?
You can set B:Use_AM_Fonts=false in the general section of the config file to fix the text, however, some of the text in the bigger entries will bleed below the book.
This mod works pretty well for me until I reach y:100 then it stops detecting ores. Is it a bug/limitation of the mod or am I doing something wrong somehow?
So I went mountain climbing in the Alps today. This mods allows for the generation of some really great mountains but aside from the great view you get from climbing them, you don't have much to motivate you to explore those great looking biomes.
I was wondering if there was any plans to add some ores (I couldn't find any once I reach a certain height) or if anyone knows a compatible mod that makes mountain climbing worthwhile?
I've been trying to make CTM work with this mod and I've run into a few issues (I'm not sure if those issues a related to my inexperience, ctm or biome o' plenty).
While I successfully made a ctm for a randomized mud, bamboo and magic wood, for some reason moss will not use my ctm at all. I'm pretty sure I used the right BlockID and moss doesn't seem to use metadata? anyways I'm at a loss here.
Edit: Issue was due to my inexperience. Fixed it by adding faces=all
Another issue I have is with Enhanced Vanilla Biomes: When enabled, the ctm function biome=Forest (or any other vanilla biome for that matter) doesn't seem to work. Does Enhanced Vanilla Biomes change the BiomeID of vanilla biomes ?
And lastly: Is there a way to control color maps for the new biomes?
It is possible, but not in the way you think. CTM can't detect what blocks are next to each other so if you made sand blend into grass at the edges, it would always look like that, even if you placed the sand next to stone, dirt, brick, etc. which looks really stupid.
So yea, it is possible, but not in the proper way you're thinking of.
I was told before it was impossible and didn't want to believe it ... It would be so cool if we could though... it'd open so many possibilities. But if CTM doesn't detect which block they are next, why doesn't placing a mossy cobblebrick break a cobblebrick wall pattern? Is that something completly different?
Hey Monster, where inside the texturepack folder are some of your metadata textures? I have a bit of freedom to use a few of these on parts of the mod blocks, and if I can find em I could use them in a few places.
haha I'm in the process of doing the same thing for a personal biome o' plenty compatibility patch. monsterfisher makes more textures than vanilla minecraft can handle!
You can find the ctm textures in \assets\minecraft\mcpatcher\ctm\
You have to dig in the properties to find out which use metadatas
alternatively I found out you can add recipes and block to the game with Custom stuff 2 from http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/506109-162-cubex2s-mods-everything-updated/#CustomStuff2 .
If someone wants to use the extra textures without relying on creative mode/world edit this could be a nice alternative but the amount of extra textures this texture pack has might make doing new recipes quite time consuming.
I have never seen a texture pack use CTM this well and on as many block as you do. And since you appear to be kind of an expert on that, maybe you can answer a question of mine?
Is that even possible with CTM?:
When I saw how your cobble brick and mossy cobble brick work together, I thought that might be possible. I seriously hope I'm not mistaken haha
I feel Minecraft kind of already has fog, even though it's purely for graphics. I might add dew, however, which could cover water surfaces at sunrise. This mod is more of a mod that adds realistic things, or at least fitting things to Minecraft. A nether gas might not be realistic, but that's where the fitting things come in.
English is not my maternal language so fog might not have been the proper word for what I meant, what you said about dew is pretty close to what I was suggesting, and I'm glad you're considering it!
As for the nether gases:
Gases are released from magma [...] Some volcanic gases kill by acidic corrosion; others kill by asphyxiation
(from wikipedia)
So I'd suggest a gas that:
spawns where there is a large number of lava blocks
keeps the player from breathing
Adds a corosion block overlay over blocks (like vines, rails and paintings do, It doesn't change the actual block but add something on top and can be removed/gathered)
If even one obsidian block of the portal has rust on it, the portal closes and you can't reopen it until you remove the corrosion that accumulated on it.
I saw that you were thinking of porting this to forge and grew interested.
I did a quick image edit of an idea i had; fog. It wouldn't raise it would just hover around an area. It could be biome specific for swampish biomes or other mod exclusive biomes.
Some fog could give a debuff/buff depending on the biome? For example, biome o' plenty has this ominous forest biome with poisonous water in it; it could spawn poisonous fog.
Also: Splash potions could spawn gases...maybe?
Anyways, great mod. Thanks for making this!
Is ctm able to detect if two blocks that use a different texture touches one another and if so use a different texture?
This could be used, for example, to create a transition between two block that have too much constrast like sand and grass.

this is my first bug report, hope I'm doing this right

What's been built is actually only about half of it, the other side is supposed to be identical so I was wondering if there was a way to mirror the left side of my castle to the right side. The only thing I managed to do with this mod is to "flip" half of the castle but the copied half have its rear in the front... which isn't what I'm trying to do.

You can change how strong the DOF is in Final.fsh under #define DOF and Chocapic even included a few presets.
Try the one under "Near to human eye (for gameplay, default)", it works perfectly for me.
...
btw, can anyone point me at where to change values to make nights and caves darker? they're a bit too light for my tastes

java.lang.NullPointerException: Registering texture
at ConnectedProperties.findBiome(ConnectedProperties.java:212)
at ConnectedProperties.parseBiomes(ConnectedProperties.java:187)

I had the same problems and turns out it was an ID config between thaumcraft and the new version of ars magica that both used the block ID 4095 if I remember correctly. (flux goo and witch wood stairs I think). If blocks IDs are the problem, check if you can change them in the config files. (and remember that the max block ID you can use is 4096)
0
You can set B:Use_AM_Fonts=false in the general section of the config file to fix the text, however, some of the text in the bigger entries will bleed below the book.

0
I was told before it was impossible and didn't want to believe it ... It would be so cool if we could though... it'd open so many possibilities. But if CTM doesn't detect which block they are next, why doesn't placing a mossy cobblebrick break a cobblebrick wall pattern? Is that something completly different?
haha I'm in the process of doing the same thing for a personal biome o' plenty compatibility patch. monsterfisher makes more textures than vanilla minecraft can handle!
0
Is that even possible with CTM?:
When I saw how your cobble brick and mossy cobble brick work together, I thought that might be possible. I seriously hope I'm not mistaken haha

English is not my maternal language so fog might not have been the proper word for what I meant, what you said about dew is pretty close to what I was suggesting, and I'm glad you're considering it!
As for the nether gases:
(from wikipedia)
So I'd suggest a gas that:

I saw that you were thinking of porting this to forge and grew interested.
I did a quick image edit of an idea i had; fog. It wouldn't raise it would just hover around an area. It could be biome specific for swampish biomes or other mod exclusive biomes.
Some fog could give a debuff/buff depending on the biome? For example, biome o' plenty has this ominous forest biome with poisonous water in it; it could spawn poisonous fog.
Also: Splash potions could spawn gases...maybe?
Anyways, great mod. Thanks for making this!

This could be used, for example, to create a transition between two block that have too much constrast like sand and grass.
