Experience: I have been playing minecraft for ~2 years. I mostly play creative and work a lot with world edit to make big constructions. I have been moderator on a few servers, and know how to behave... My building style would be "big".
Previous work: I have posted some pictures here: http://minebook.me/disilasTheese are not my best builds because the others are on servers witch is no longer active.

In-Game name: MysticMagicks How long have you played minecraft: Since Beta skype - name: MysticMagicks Do you have teamspeek: Nope, but I can get it if needed. I do have ventrilo, however. Any last questions: I don't have pictures of previous builds, but I'm not a complete noob at the game. Just thought I'd give that little bit of information
I will add you to the list.
You better get teamspeek 3. Looks like there will be a bit more people in than i expected. (That is not a problem tho : ) )
Yes I will agree that just a single block or two is an eyesore when it's simply sitting in the skyline, but when a small island is formed, I personally feel awestruck at how fascinating a structure such as that appears in the air.
Then i am afraid we are discussing different things. A big island or overhangs are just fabulous, but that is not the case in the picture ^^
Yes that was the post i was referring to, and it is absolutely "in context" because he is explaining the very issue we are talking about.
"Suddenly, the game had flat areas, smooth hills, and also most single floating blocks were gone."
This is from notch's early tumblir. He was trying to make the terrain as flawless as possible, and explains why strange world generation occured. I read his article about 7-9 months ago, so i had a hard time finding it. But as a conclution i's like to say that due to notch's plan, this strange generation was not intentionally, but it would be very much work to fix it. But as most people didn't complain... He didn't bother doing anything about it. I guess people just got used to this strange terrain, but i look on it as a bug from the very beginning.
whatever... this post got way to serious than i had intentions of.
Black spots have also been an issue for a long time. Even tho it's no supposed to be there. (Or do you like that too? lol)
Many people may say that this game is not supposed to be realistic, but at the end of the day - in survival, you want things to be as realistic as possible. It is a sandbox game tho, so you should be able to modify it as you want.
I don't know the generation code in and out, but i am 100% sure that chunks don't spawn random. It would be impossible to create different big ass biomes(like they are now) with a completely random spawned blocks.
The reason i put it here and not on jeb_'s twitter was because i'm not really THAT bothered by this bug, but enough to make this little picture.
If you're referring to the floating island with a tree, that's not a bug. Floating bits of land have been a part of Minecraft for quite some time now.
Yes, but it is still not something that should be included in the game. I'd say something is wrong with the world generation code, AKA wait for it..... bug.

You obviously don't know how the generation code is, so i'm not even gonna bother discussing with you.
