All the latest stuff is uploaded to my Patreon. Snapshots are available for download there for all thanks to my patrons. Check it out! https://www.patreon.com/memphiserwin?ty=h
Day 5: I remain the only patron. The drought of content seems to have driven off all others who would have supported this endeavor. I remain hopeful that in time, others too will join me on my quest to attain content, but know in my heart that I may never see it.
Thank you! Don't worry friend. More content will come I assure you. I will keep posting regardless of the amount of patrons. It's just slow for me lately cause I just started my third year of college. So I'll be doing work in-between school work
Hey everyone! I know updates and communication has been scarce lately but I've resolved to launch a Patreon to fix this! I'll be uploading all new work on the pack to it as soon as its done. I have also given all patrons of at least $1USD access to snapshots of the HD pack! Or every time a $10USD goal has been reached I will upload the latest snapshot to be available to everyone! I post individual texture updates on there for non-patrons as well. The snapshots will just be compiled and ready to use versions. So please check it out, I'd love to hear thoughts on each new texture updates that I post there. I also have stretch goals where I'll create an alternative texture of your choice!
Click the spoilers button underneath the banner that says computer pack. There you will find the different versions available for download. Just click the version you want and it will send you on your way to download it.
I don't want to be that guy, but is this Resource Pack dead or just going radio silent for a while?
It's not dead but I haven't worked on it in a little while. I've been busy with school work. So even if I don't really post much, rest assured I haven't abandoned it. However for now it is on hiatus.
I'm sure it's just going silent, they just updated from 1.7.10 to 1.8 so that's progress. Making a texture pack is hard work, and this one specifically is brilliant, so give them time hahah
Hello! Yah it's tough but I haven't dropped it. I usually pick up working again when there are snapshots for a new update. So you have that to look forward too! Thanks for your kind words, I wasn't sure people were still interested in this pack. I've seen a lot of Fallout x Minecraft stuff lately but they all focus on higher resolution. None of which are full packs might I mention. Usually just dirt and a handful of other blacks.
Oh wow! That's some nice modeling. What blocks did you replace for each of them? Also if you could send them too me to test out that'd be great. Also as I said before, my main issue right now is with the slanted railing. With the normal rail I had a flat surface in between the railing and the planks. The surface had the standard rail uv mapped to it. So when in game, it automatically applies the rail variant textures to it. So it would show the details of the booster rail, activator rail, and such. Otherwise any item or block I haven't modeled yet that you feel would be better in 3D is open for being worked on. I would be sure to give you proper credit for the models of course
I'm doing pretty good with making the models myself but help is always welcomed. I especially need someone who can model things that are slanted. For example the slanted railing. I have a model for it by someone on Reddit who modded my normal rail for me. However it is kinda larger than the normal rail and it also doesn't show the special rail's textures. That's my biggest issues right now. Otherwise right now I'm working on fences and tripwires. Also what ever that is you posted isn't playing. Is it a video?
Oh the issue isn't finding the music. I have all of the music files from Fallout and even the background music too! I added them to Mineout in 1.7 but removed them from the public versions because of copyright issues. I would gladly distribute it separately from the base Mineout pack so I'm not collecting revenue from Adfly for it. However the issue was finding a place to host it, as Media Fire automatically blocks copyrighted music. Thank you for the offer though.
I'm always open to ideas! So if you have any be sure to let me know. I still have no idea what to do with the new bunnies or guardians and water temples. So feel free to drop me a line!
Also The classic Fallouts are great but they do have a learning curve and are a different gameplay experience but they still feel very much like the Fallout you know and love. The best place I can recommend you get them is on Good Old Games but they recently took them off of the market because the license rights reverted to Bethesda. So hopefully they will be added again. Otherwise you could get them from Steam but they only have it for PC.
Thanks for letting us know what you think of the pack! We really appreciate feedback from the community. I'd like to clear up though that this is not considered a mod. It isn't even just a texture pack because we edit more than just the textures. So the proper term for our work is a resource pack. Also yes, there are two people on the Mineout team. That being me (The_Gotham) and Neptune4a which has taken a hiatus from the pack. So the past few updates it has just been me working on the pack. I did most of the mobs myself but we both do a lot of brainstorming before we decide what a texture should represent from Fallout. We both have plaid a tremendous amount of the Fallout series. Not just 3 and New Vegas but also 1, 2 and Tactics. I personally have logged way over 600 hours of time playing the Fallout series. Also I would like to point out that the iron block resembles sheet metal which can be seen in Megaton, which the houses are made of. Gold block is a shipping crate which you find in old warehouses and the like. Emerald block is indeed a safe, which we decided would be an esthetic choice. As in it was prettier and more useful to have it like the bottle caps are in a safe.
Be sure to check out the new 3D models I just uploaded! Be sure to tell your pals about Mineout too! The more exposure we can get the better. Thank you and enjoy your stay!
