Curse Premium doesn't exist any more, but previously it gave you: advertisement free browsing, a private forum for Curse Premium members and a member title.

Yes, they do. You can hover over your post count on your profile page to see the breakdown, "comments" refers to comments on news articles.

Since this thread was created Curse Premium has been retired, you can learn more about that here: https://mods.curse.com/news/curse/52112-curse-premium-update, this means that you are no longer eligible for automatic Curse Premium based on CurseForge downloads. Over time any existing Curse Premium entitlements on this forum will expire, and members will be returned to their default Registered Member status.
Any member that was previously eligible for free Curse Premium is welcome to contact me and I will manually subscribe their account to Advertisement Free benefits on the forum. I have done this for you already macadamia238, please let me know if you run into any issues with seeing advertisements on the forum.
Jul 14, 2017citricsquid posted a message on How do I put a gif as my signature? I am new to this forum website...Posted in: Forum Discussion & Info
You were trying to embed the imgur gallery page instead of the image itself, to embed the image you need to get the image URL (Right Click > Copy Image Address). I have updated your signature for you to use the correct URL.
Jul 14, 2017Posted in: Forum Discussion & Info
Your URL contains a character which causes problems with our URL parsing code. I have updated your URL to http://www.mediafire.com/file/02815gz6l77sbtd which works with our system, and now your Download link in your post works as expected.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I've made a note for the development team to investigate this but I can't provide any estimate of when this will be investigated and fixed. If you need any further support with the forum feel free to submit a ticket: http://www.minecraftforum.net/meta/support

An animated avatar will only animate if it's less than or equal to 100px x 100px. You should resize on a third party service if the avatar you'd like to use is greater than 100 x 100.

How do I start a new thread rather than read someone else's? I have a problem and no one seems to have the same? For about three weeks now my minecraft pocket edition on iPhone 7 won't load whilst playing over wifi at home, it comes up with the mojang logo then sceeen goes white! I have tried contacting mojang but they don't seem to answer or have a technical support to help me! I don't want to delete and restore as I have worlds on it I have built over years and would take too long to recreate. The strange thing is it works when on 4g although that will cost loads to play on or eat my data up!! Please someone help!!
1. Navigate to the Pocket Edition Support forum, here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/minecraft-pocket-edition-support
2. Click the New Thread button
3. Enter your title and body, then click Create Thread

Yes, we're currently planning to restructure the various suggestions to match the new structure of the various Minecraft versions.

when it says people who give valuable feedback will get a special title, what do you mean by valuable feedback? can i have an example so i can understand?
Posts that provide anything that is useful to us, for example this is valuable feedback because they provide an idea and explain how they think it might work: http://beta.minecraftforum.net/forums/beta/forum-beta-feedback/2081370-themes

That interface is repulsive at best.
If you can elaborate that would be appreciated!

Oh, and I never liked that "Show your creation" is so far down. I always thought, it should be one of the most important subforums.
Juggling the order of forums is unfortunately very difficult, we currently base it off of the popularity of a section (SYC is far down because it's not very popular) but we're aware that by putting a section at the bottom it ensures it stays low in traffic, we're looking at ways to deal with that problem.
Quote from Zahnradfee
Anyway - I don't see a reason yet why we would need another forum.
Can somebody explain it to me please?
The new forum software provides tons of new features, it also includes a brand new content management system for news / pages and resolves numerous outstanding issues on the forum, including improved stability and more mobile friendly. Moving to the new software will allow us to ensure that long term the forum is the best forum it can be, on the current forum software we're hitting the limits of what we can do.

Does this mean that attempting to edit threads won't be like storming the beaches of Normandy anymore? That's all I really care about.
Yes! That is the worst bug in the world and it's completely resolved on the new platform, also a brand new feature is included called "Revision History", Revision History allows you to see every previous edit to your posts and you can revert back to any of them at any time.
Feel free to play around with this feature in the "Test" section of the beta forum, make a post, edit it, refresh the page, edit some more, then use the "Post History" drop down to see everything!

I guess this means the famous "soon" is a no more.

The new version is so white that it's an eyesore in certain conditions - such as reading my large television-screen in a pleasantly-lit room instead of looking at a small computer-screen in a brightly-lit workplace. Where a bright room makes a white screen about as inoffensive as a sheet of paper for many, it seems a lot of people don't keep the places where they use the Internet brightly lit. Thus, mostly-white forums are an eyesore (literally, since the screen produces the most light to create white, and staring at bright lights for prolonged periods is hard on the eyes).
Hmm, to me the beta is no brighter than the live website but as you say I'm working in a brightly lit room. Can you provide some information on which parts of the site are too bright? An annotated screenshot would be hugely helpful!

Further, you've changed up the icons to another unintelligible batch of random.
I've seen a few comments regarding the icons, I've made a note and we'll look into improving the icons.
Quote from Msiku
Fix the avatars too.
What is wrong with the avatars? We can make changes if there's something we've missed!
Quote from AleXndrTheGr8st
On topic though: I noticed when I go to my post count, it says 67 comments and 1826 forum posts. What's the difference, and if they are what I think they are shouldn't they be the other way around? I know I certainly haven't made 1826 threads
A "comment" is a comment on a news article and "post" includes anything made on the forum: posts and threads. The comment count originally included profile comments but we've removed that because of potential for abuse.

I don't like how I am seeing swag over there.
Quote from LordFokas
Sacheverell, I can't believe you actually said "swag" multiple times.
Quote from _Bedrock
Heh, it looks like Sacheverell removed the 'swag' with 'sweet'
Quote from TechnicolorDalek
Damn. Didn't notice it said "swag" until I already entered.
Now hoping I don't win this "swag".
Years and years ago, before the youth of today co-opted the word as their own, swag had a different meaning. Swag meant a group of items gathered from a source, eg: if a person broke into your house and stole your belongings, it would be their "swag", it's from the olden days. When someone says "swag" in the way Sacheverell used it, they're referring to a collection of x themed items. "Minecraft Swag" = Minecraft merchandise.
For the last 20 years or so if someone had said "Minecraft Swag" everyone would have instantly thought "Minecraft Merchandise!", it's only in the last ~3 or 4 years that swag has become the word most teenagers know it as. Sacheverell is an adult (shock horror) so the word has a different meaning to him.

Before anyone tries to remove this...They put on the pirate bay. So the mods can't really take it down if they put it on the PIRATE BAY
If 2PP wanted the documentary to be on Youtube they would upload it to Youtube.

This was after the release when this was originally posted on November 20th. If you have any insight on why the quicksaves don't work or why the manual backups refuse to work, even after MC had been long since closed, I'd appreciate it.
Edit: By "not working" we mean that the client states that whenever you hit Esc, the client should create a quicksave, but it never does. I'd attempted this on multiple worlds and none of the quicksaves ever appeared in the client.
If you send an email to [email protected] they'll do their best to resolve any issues you have. Sorry for the troubles!
Nov 30, 2012Posted in: NewsQuote from kaitco
It isn't working for me as well. I downloaded this the first time this was posted and found that the quick save feature did not work, no matter how much I fiddled with the options. Then, the manual backups stopped working and kept saying "close Minecraft first" or something of that nature. It's easier to just go into the .minecraft folder and copy-paste my worlds every once in a while. I've since deleted the client.
Was this during the testing period, or after release?
Quote from Lehpumeh
So is this quicksave feature premium only? Cause it's not working for me.
What do you mean by "not working", can you explain what happens?

"Available to everyone"
As long as you have a PC. What about us Mac users? How much longer till we get features that are available to "everyone?"
Everyone with compatible hardware and software, I'll edit that stipulation into my comment. Regarding the mac client, it's in progress but there's no ETA yet We'll announce when it's available on Mac.

You guys are shameless it seems. The only way I would ever consider a Curse premium subscription is if you removed the ads in all versions of your software, simply to support a company doing the right thing.
I believe Curse premium removes adverts from all Curse software, do you have an example of anything that it doesn't? I can look into why that is for you.

BTW, congrats on Admin, citricsquid!
It probably happened a long time ago, but I just noticed.
I created this forum in 2009, I've been admin since the first second the forum existed haha

looks cool, I just wish non-curse members could use it...
Quote from TheGrayGoo
Not gonna happen. Curse is a company. Curse want money.
The quick save feature is available to everyone for free. Every member of minecraftforum.net is a member of curse.com; we use the curse.com login system. If you have an account here you can download the curse client for free (http://curse.com/client) and have quick saves!
Step 1. Go to the "Curse Client" page on curse.com: http://www.curse.com/client
Step 2. Click "Download for PC" (Minecraft features are only available on PC at the moment)
Step 3. Follow the install process
Step 4. Login with the same information you use to login to minecraftforum.net
it's super simple!
The only thing you can't do without subscribing to curse premium (which costs between $3 per month and $5 per month depending on subscription length) is have your saves available from any computer in the world using the Curse cloud saving system. This feature is also helpful if you ever wipe your hard drive and don't want to have to remember to manually save your worlds.
Curse premium isn't required to use the curse client and you'll get a huge amount of value from the Curse client even if you don't have premium. Curse premium will extend the Curse client experience (and all Curse websites) to something really special but it isn't required.
We want everyone to be able to use the client to make their Minecraft experience even better and every feature that can be offered for free is, however some features have a real tangible cost to the company and we need to offset those costs with premium
There's a full run down of the features available as part of the Curse client with those that require a Curse premium subscription labelled, you can find that list of features here and you can find information on Curse premium here. You get to support the site, extra features in the client, advertisement free, private forum... and more
The only thing specific to the quick save feature, there are a few extra things that are premium only but they relate to management of texture packs and advertisements. Advertisements are always hidden for Curse premium members on every (supported) Curse website and Curse program.
