Open up minecraft.jar, get the file 'gui/items.png'
open items.png in gimp.
pick the rectangular selection tool, select the 16x16 area where the shovel is.
hit ctrl + c.
hit ctrl + v.
position the new shovel over the old one (do not anchor layers yet!)
find the menu item 'Layers->transform->rotate 90' and click that. Your shovel should now be rotated.
Anchor the pasted selection by clicking outside of the selection area.
hit ctrl + s.
close gimp, package your new 'gui/items.png' in a zip file (preserve the 'gui' folder.) Call it "Rotated Shovel Pack.zip"
copy the zip file to '.minecraft/texturepacks'
in minecraft, select your newly created texture pack with a rotated shovel.

Why is this mod incompatable with texture packs? It's kind of a mod-breaking incompatability. I would seriously recommend figuring out this incompatability before any of the others...
Ok, I've been messing around with Zeppelins in the Aether, and I've found that the clipping bug happens more often in the following two situations:
1. When my craft is not aligned to the grid (rotationally especially)
2. When my craft is close to complex terrain
Honestly I think these clipping bugs are just hiccups in physics processing caused by the huge number of aerwhales all over the place. Man I really need to start killing those guys.
Dude ya Ican insall mods I have installed too many items aether clay soldiers and a few moer but I just can't figure out this particular mod
Ok, so generally when you ask a forum for help with a possible bug or problem, you want to walk them through the steps you took to install the mod first. Then, if there's a crash, provide the crash log that minecraft generates.
I know this is "it's done when it's done," but how much have you completed, and how much is still left to do? Which features are you having the most trouble with? Which features do you think are gonna rock our socks off?
I want to use this mod with the Aether, and I know people have tested its compatability, but I'm having clipping issues with the bottom of my craft. Often when I ascend or descend, I fall through the blocks below me, usually to my death. I've tried doubling up on the floor blocks, but oftentimes I will just end up clipping through one block when I ascend once, then clip through the other when I try to descend.
Is this clipping problem a known issue? Is there any block I can use to prevent it? Do you need more information to reproduce the problem? I'm using the Aether mod (which requires modloader, audiomod, and shockapi), Shelves, and Armor Stand (both Risugami mods) in addition to Zeppelin. I haven't yet tried reinstalling just Zeppelin (and Modloader,) so I'll check that next.
EDIT: I can prevent the clipping problem by jumping whenever I ascend or descend. I guess the no-clipping happens whenever it changes vertical velocity?
DOUBLE EDIT: Hmm, when I first create the craft, I clip through just the block below me. Also, this only happens in the aether it seems! Huh.
MORE EDITING: Oh, and I installed the Aether Modifications. I wonder if that will affect the preformance of the craft...
Also, I lost two ships in the aether because of this clipping problem. Are ships still floating around out there even when I teleport back to the Surface? Do they hit the roof of the world and break? Would they die with a de-spawning chunk? Or are they still floating out there somewhere, helpless and laggy?
I haven't been working on this project for about a month or so because I've been trying to get my car back on the road, and other personal-life things going on. That said, I'm probably going to start working on this again (and Lahwran wants to help too!) My goals are as follows, in order:
1. Get the custom landmark API finished.
2. Port the entire code to java, because let's face it, python is slow.
3. Figure out some solution for previewing chunks outside of the game.
4. Integrate mcworldgen with minecraft so that it generates chunks that get directly loaded into the level.
Notch is a lazy *******, and everyone knows it. For chrissakes, he flaunts it on his blog. If he worked half as hard as AndrewHussie, Minecraft would be a finished product today.
I have the newest and most updated version of everything!!!
Let me clarify what these people are saying to you:
1. Delete your existing minecraft_server.jar, regardless of what version it is.
2. Go download the latest one, regardless of what version the old one was.
3. Delete your .minecraft/bin folder, regardless of what version it is.
4. Delete your minecraft.exe launcher, regardless of what version it is.
5. Re-download the latest launcher, and get the latest minecraft client.
In other words, go double-check everything instead of spending time picking out forum text colors and fonts to yell at us in.
